Does it turn on and off based on the thermostat setting? Mine does not turn off automatically. But it says in the manual that it should 🥲

It should, have you tried dialing the thermostat on the back. You should hear a click sound when it's below or higher than your desired temperature. It should this even if it's off. You can use fan mode so you can test safely. If you have the thermostat set to a reasonable setting, And it's just not turning off could be a few things. 1. It's simply not getting hot enough to trun off. 2. It's defective perhaps I find these types of thermostats a bit inaccurate which is why I use mine with a smart switch and external temperature sensor.

The wattage is the electricity consumption, which does not necessarily corolate to the heating capacity. The cheap KMart heater uses a basic electric element like your toaster has. The more expensive heater not only looks better, but it is much more efficient as it uses ceramic technology to create the heat. The bottom line is more heat for less electricity with the much more efficient and slightly more expensive heater.

Sorry but you're incorrect here. All electric heaters are effectively 100% efficient, All the energy goes to heat. Consider watching this from a much better KZfaqr than myself kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJOaoLab3pilooE.htmlsi=-fbf6JAoyilJDKYw . The only way to get more efficiency is with a heat pump.

Hey there mate! Should i go for 15$ or 25$ one? If you have used those from kmart

I haven't personally used those, but a heater is a heater. I had a look, the $15 and $25 heaters both output the same amount of heat. The $25 one oscillates meaning it will blow in different directions. Personally I would just go with the $15 one as I have a similar unit and that does a perfectly good job of heating up my bedroom.

Is it okay to use overnight?

They can be, Just make sure you take appropriate safety precautions such as keeping flammable objects away from the heater, not using it with a power strip or extension cord. You'll also want to adjust the thermostat on the back to make sure it doesn't get too hot. Space heaters if not used correctly can easily lead to a fire. If you are not comfortable with that idea, leaving it on over night might not be the best idea. If you also have kids or pets that could knock it over I'd personally avoid leaving it on over night. Also there is no indicator of temperature unfortunately on the thermostat so you can probably dial that in during the day before bed when you find a temperature you like. I use mine with a smart switch and temperature sensor to keep my bedroom around 20 to 23° depending on how I feel. Alternatively you can always get a more advanced heater with a built-in digital thermostat or an automatic timer so it shuts off shortly after you fall asleep.

What's the running cost?

Electric heaters are 100% efficient, as all electricity is turned into heat. This heater uses 1500w on high. You would multiply that times a number of hours it's on times the cost of your power. Hypothetically if your electricity is 30 cents per kilowatt hour. This unit on high would use 45 cents per hour. Multiply that times the number of hours you have it on and that's how you get your cost
