A panel needs to be a rainbow to appeal to different demographics. There aren't many former players that can speak in complete sentences and be seen as authentic black. I'm not being racist - even Shaq called Curry out for his pigment on TNT once. There's a reason they were pushing for Nichols to be replaced on the Finals all those years ago and it didn't have much to do with talent

I can't believe that people are debating whether Dwight is better than Jokic when we just witnessed a man who broke records in a playoff run and put Wilt like numbers. He has been consistent over the past three years and now that he played with a healthy squad, they only lost like 5 games in the entire playoffs season. C'mon now.

Perk said “a lot of people” considered Dwight the best player in the league. Dwight was drafted in 2004. In 2004 Kobe was about 26yrs old, Tim Duncan was about 28yrs old and Bron (along with Melo and Wade)was drafted in 2003. There was NEVER a time in Dwight’s career when any significant amount of people considered Dwight better than Bron, Melo, Wade, prime Duncan and prime Kobe, so that was definitely a lie. Why is Perk still on the air? 🤣

I was a Dwight fan. He was athletic, he was a raw talent. But he’s no Jokic. Jokic has pretty much an all around game. He can pass, he can shoot, he has the IQ, the drive, the work ethic, and most importantly, he has a solid bond with teammates and staff. So next time Dwight decides to compare himself to any other player, he needs to make sure he’s not under the influence.

It’s actually crazy how people play down Jokic on defense just because he’s not a shot blocking big. He played amazing defence in the play offs at times. Is he the best? No, but the improvement he’s made over the last couple years has been incredible. He went from a defense liability to a pretty solid defender with quick hands that can get steals left right and centre.

Everyone had good defensive plays that’s just the name of the game but Jokic is not consistently good defender. In fact if he wasn’t so amazing offensively he would be unplayable considering how much of a liability he is on that end of the ball. I'm not saying Howard is better than Jokic. However, to think he doesn't deserve a comparison is absolutely absurd and disrespectful. Everyone knows Howard should have been in the top 75 list. To say that a top 75 player in history can't be compared to Jokic is ridiculous. While Jokic may he superior to Howard on the offensive end, Howard was equally superior to Jokic on the defensive end. Dude averaged a double double 14 years in a freaking row on 60% shooting and nearly 3 blocks per game. Come on now.

He'd always acted as if his athleticism was never going to degrade, and thus never worked on any other skill-based aspects of his game that could have put him in the upper tier of all-time centers. He had an amazing peak, but once that physical capability began to decline and he couldn't fly around or push opponents in the paint, his value as a player fell off the cliff along with it. That's what separates the truly great players from the ones who are more like comets. Jokic was basically a mirror image as he matured--he had elite-level skills, but his athleticism is built around his body control, footwork, and his almost alien ability to make the game run at the pace he wants it to run, as opposed to simply being someone who's cut like a Greek god and can jump out of the gym.

Jokic averaged 20/10/6 against the LAL while Dwight only played 15min a game. Howard didn't lock him down.

I’m team Jokic all day. But if I were to make points for Dwight, it wouldn’t be based on individual and talent based because Jokic washes him. My counter would be that. ‘I was battling for MVP against Kobe, Lebron, D Wade’ and even though they’re not Centers. He could possibly say that he had to check KG and Tim. Other than that I’ve got Jokic all day. The defense thing isn’t even an argument bc Jokic plays such a team orientated way, his defense isn’t a detriment to his teams.

I'm playing devils advocate here, and I am with team jokic. Jokic had to battle MVP with an old LeBron(still in the convo), Luka, Embiid, Curry, Giannas, and Tatum.

@@kennynguyen5248 trust me I’m team Jokic too. I actually think he clears him but I’m trynna give Dwight his props. Dwights only case would be that, for the MVP, he competed against greater people all time. That’s all I’m giving him.

Howard was also talking about if he was guarding Jokic. In his prime Dwight guarding Jokic would have been a problem for Joker

No. Jokic would take him away from the hoop. Then it's over

No. Jokic can just pull up to the three where Dwight has no defense. Jokic would have destroyed him.
