It screws with me, man. She even said that she regretted her contributions to the music world, because she felt she didn't really make an impact. And she wanted to spend more time with her family (respect). She was born too soon, lightyears ahead of her time. If only she could've known then what we know now.....

@@williamfries960I actually cried for her when I found out. Not only did she die, but she died coming to regret the life she'd led,and resenting something she loved doing ever since she was a girl. She regreted deeply not having started a family of her own and not spending enough time with her loved ones when she had the chance... She apparently went berserk when she learned she was dying and destroyed a lot of her music and works in progress. I find her story very similar to Minnie Ripperton's who died in 1979 of breast cancer when Mikki was making her début Apparently there's a movie about her coming out soon...and there a really good documentary wich you can find here on KZfaq if you're interested.

You know, you do a GREAT job at capturing that Japanese city pop vocal sound with the way you shape your vowels and round your tone. It's what I imagine those classic Japanese female vocalists would have sounded like with perfect English. When I listen to you through English, I imagine that the chills I feel are the same that native Japanese people had hearing this in Japanese.

That's Caitlin Myers for you. I first came across her on her version of Plastic Love a couple of years and I love that song. I have yet to listen to some more of her other songs, but these are a great way to have the meaning draw you in and they will help reinforce your love for J-Pop. I finally understand the meaning to the song. I knew what it was about, but I couldn't understand it's original language, but now, this song is full of meaning. I have tears in my eyes, it feels like having a clear view into a world I thought was non-existent, even though it was all there, through the window. I was curious what the lyrics meant but English versions usually suck so I didn't really want to listen to this but I'm so glad I did. This is one of the only times I've listened to a song that was translated to English and thought it was practically as good as the original. It just fits perfectly, you sing the exact way she did, and it doesn't feel forced or anything. You actually killed this one.

One of the best city pops I have listened to. I cry a lot whenever I hear this because it is about longing and the truth that there is no turning back in time and that it's impossible to relive the same love and romance. On the other hand, Miki's voice is powerful, and the depth of her emotions put into the song is simply superb. If she lived, she is now in her 60s. But we need to embrace the sad reality that everyone has their own time to embrace the grave. Rest in power, Miki! Thanks for the music that I have recently discovered. ❤
