@@MyClarkBar Bea Arthur played Vera Charles in Mame, and she and Angela Lansbury were very good friends in real life...so I'm sure this episode was meant to poke good-natured fun at Murder She Wrote (which was on the air during the same era.) Of course, Jessica Fletcher had long monologues explaining the crime (well, not quite monologues because the suspects would interrupt.) Bea is perhaps the one other actress I could have seen pulling off Jessica Fletcher - although she would have given the character a harder edge.

Taking a moment to celebrate Betty White, who passed away today, December 31 2021, basically just a couple of weeks before her 100th birthday. This comedy legend has left a wonderful legacy of entertainment for us to enjoy. Now she is with the other Golden Girls, plus her Mary Tyler Moore Show friends too. It's too bad that she won't be able to celebrate such a big birthday but life sometimes doesn't work that way. As someone with chronic illnesses, Inc CFS that episode with Dr Budd is tough to watch. But also Dorothy looks beyond beautiful, the cream and gold colour palette is so elegant on her, oversized Chanel earrings add glamour and the fact the whole outfit is fitted and with slightly longer hair, it's by far my favourite look on her.Stunning.

Some outfits on the show were such a miss on her I didn't see her beauty right away , they didn't suit her demeanor and character but that's the ex Stylist in me being overly fussy.Other outfits were just jaw dropping and memorable.I couldn't pull off those vintage Chanel earrings if I was around then or had them now.😂

I think one of the many reasons “The Golden Girls” is such an enduring classic, is because the ladies didn’t fit the typical stereotypes of older women, with gray hair, sagging bodies, and stiff movements. They were beautiful, vital and enjoyed active sex lives. This show will never be duplicated. The writing was crisp, crazy funny, and ahead of its time. And of course, the “Girls” were amazing actresses.

There’s a scene in murder mystery where *Spoiler Alert* Blanche is accused of a murder and she comes to terms with the fact that she might go to prison. Rose interjects with something along the lines of “Blanche, you’re not going to a mens prison!” With a shocked Blanche looking in disbelief lol
