We are at POP too. The only damage we had near our room (90's Building) was a tree branch down, broken outside lights and sign down. Not as much flooding as we expected either

This storm is not the worst hurricane that hit Florida. Hurricane Andrew from 1992 was the worst.

I stayed at All Star Sports during hurricane Irma in 2017. Even though we were on the second floor some water still came under the door. We were restricted to our room for 24 hours, then to the resort for another 24 hours. During that time we had Goofy, Pluto and Chip and Dale in the food court at breakfast. During it all we never lost power or the internet.

Movies took excellent care of us yesterday and last night. Huge thanks to all CM!

When we would have bad storms roll in the country club I worked @ in college, we’d put all the outdoor furniture in the shallow end of the pool. Worked like a charm

You could stay three weeks with all of that food.

I've always heard that Disney brings out the characters to the resorts during emergencies - Great to KNOW that actually happens. This video series will hopefully bring comfort to those that plan trips and have it disrupted by Mother Nature. Not sure there are many vloggers out there that would have this experience - thank you so much for bringing it to us - but PLEASE be safe - I see you wont go hungry :-) Will be watching your insta / twitter accounts for frequent updates - You and the people of Florida are on our minds. Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's video and how it actually hits your area. Just left POP Tuesday. I'm in Sarasota area and it was bad enough here. Rained for 18 hours and some spots had 38 inches of rain. The winds were scary up to 65 mph here and are still hanging around today but much diminished. Hoping you didn't get hit too bad. The hurricane came ashore in Ft. Meyers. Prayers for all those down there. Much devastation.

Been staying at the Portofino at Universal since Sunday and all was fine . They moved some of the restaurants to the ballrooms and thankfully the bar has been open . Hoping park opens back up tomorrow/Friday 😎😎😎

As a Cape Coral resident, I fled to Orlando. Luckily everything that I have survived. Wish I would have stayed at Disney though just for access to food lol

Hard to believe I was there last week. I was at the Movie Resort. I ate pretty good. Just overnight oats and a 2 pack of hard boiled eggs every morning. With either Vitamin Water or iced coffee in a refillable souvenir cup. Those cups are probably good for Hurricanes. When you’re at the resort.

We are at Coronado Springs and Wednesday morning was a little crazy when everyone from the various “neighborhoods” around the resort came to the Grand Destino Tower for food. But Disney called an audible and opened up some of the restaurants for buffet breakfast and it all worked fine. It’s Thursday now and the lifeguards are walking around the hotel waiting for assignments. Some minor flooding but nothing serious. Staff are starting clean up outside. Maybe the pools will open tomorrow. We will see.

Glad you had the essentials: Wine, snacks, and PB&J. Also want to give the Disney Employees props to all their hard work getting everything ready. The south western part of Florida looks to have been hit really hard when the eye of the storm hit. Wishing everyone the best from Cincinnati.

Here in Houston we used to have hurricane parties. During Carla way back in the 60's I remember sitting in trees, dangling our feet in the water. And grills going, trying to cook all the meet in everyones freezers before it went bad, then everyone in the neighborhood eating together.

Nothing major at All Stars resort. No major flooding and only a couple trees down but no damage.

I'm going to say it: Disney can be a really class act. They did NOT price gouge and very likely only charged you "at cost" to them, and they get low, low prices for the bulk they buy. Disney clearly has the money to pay an excellent legal team to have a plan in place to mitigate injuries and the subsequent lawsuits they cause. Of course, there are going to be people on the first floor of just about any hotel. I would DEF swim. No question. Plus, all those little ones need to be exercised to the point of exhaustion because they will sleep well and be better rested to stay inside once the storm hits Orlando. I've heard from others, decades ago, that all Disney resorts really treat their guests well and really think ahead for rain, storms, earthquakes (in Cali), and even on their cruise ships. However, this is the first "video" footage of seen of just how good Disney is as pre-planning and really thinking these things through. Every person I've known who went to a Disney resort where it rained (not even a hurricane), said they would definitely return because Disney gave them free Mickey Mouse rain ponchos, gave them free entertainment inside (when rides were shut down), and kept food prices reasonable (and we all know Disney's prices are usually very high). Thanks for filming and uploading this.
