This was only a boyfriend! She should have left, when he raised his voice to her the 1st time They had no commitment, no kids, he was just a nothing. She had to pretend everything was ok, that she was happy, & that she loved him. Been there, done that. So exhausting, & stressful!

I’m also trying, been trying for 4 years. And it’s true it does get harder and harder especially if you have children, no money, no where to go, no support. We been “together” for 4 years and the person says that I’m just throwing it all away when in reality things started to go down hill within the first year.

I hope all is well Ella, if you haven't already done so please leave if you feel in danger. You are safer in another place, also there are organizations for abused women of domestic violence. I would advice you to Google these resources. Get in touch with a trusted family member or therapist if you can to heal. Don't disclose your new location or stay with a maniac. This is for anyone going through the same thing as you. Good vibes and positive blessings to you. 🙏✨

Why don't people call 911 in these situations??
@yangminhye3492 жыл бұрын
In a situation like that, it’s not easy to let that call go away unnoticed. In that time, she would probably receive more abuse than before, and the man would believe he is justified for hurting her. That doesn’t get rid of the option for calling the police, but oftentimes, slinking out before the abuser can even realize is the least traumatic option for the victim. I would most definitely call a friend, rather than the police, although there’s an extreme point where the police would be a better option.
@mementomorgan67212 жыл бұрын
From experience, even when you can call the police the solution is temporary. The abuser will go to jail for the night if there are visible bruises, then get bailed out. If nothing visible then it’ll be that they’re told to leave for the evening. Then when they come back it can be much worse. So I had to call a hotline and plan an escape when he went to work and forgot to lock the door one day. I had to change my job and schedule and was given an apartment to stay in that had 24/7 security and a curfew. It took moving out of state before I actually felt safe though and that was a year after I last saw him.
