@@bencurran3204 for stealth, yes - otherwise having to micromanage troops more often than mowas is a fucking problem though lmao (and also the AI having a farther sight than you doesn't help)

@@hueylong7989 also the units aren't very responsive and stop moving randomly and the entire unit movement design isn't fluid either. It's just a horrid mowas 2 mod. Not to mention 2 factions in base game that gets boring and then they added Finland as a dlc just cause

Granted in basically every game the AI has perfect knowledge of the game state. The trick is dumbing the ai back down to make it fun to play against.

@@sp0ckz0mbi3 thats not true, that is not how code works. The AI only knows what the coder allowed it to know. So if you code it so it can only see 10 units in front of it, it will not know that you are there if you are at 11 units distance. The issue only really comes in if you link the AI with all input f.e.. Makes programming the AI a looooot easier and faster, but it will know stuff that it shouldnt know.

@@katieee4915 That is how most AI works actually. You start with perfect knowledge then program the AI to ignore what it isn't supposed to know. So in your example the AI would know your units are there, but would be unable to respond to them, maintaining the illusion the AI is operating with fog of war like the player. AI are very bad at making decisions with incomplete info. So most AI has perfect knowledge of the game but is programmed to pretend it doesn't so the player doesn't feel like the ai is cheating.

@@HansWurst1569 Well he has a point, moving some troops with no logistical support and no vehicles through the enemy frontline is the best way to just hand them over to them, modern warfare requires strong logistical support so that your men can communicate, get resupllied in food, ammunition and medical supplies and fighting without vehicles is always very hard. A sneak attack in modern warfare mostly involves moving where the enemy doesn't expect you to move, you do that while running and with your vehicles, not worming your way through a field to not get spotted, if you are in the line-of-sight of your enemy the operation is stupid, an encirclement isn't done by standing 500 meters of the enemy on two sides, one of which has no supplies... Examples of surprise attacks include operation Bagration which involved massive troop movements on weak points of the Axis line, japanese attacks in Malaysia which involved fast deployment at night time where japanese soldiers would overwhelm enemy positions by charging or guerilla warfare. Guerrila warfare in which managing to surprise the enemy is paramount mostly involves concentrating your smaller ressources in a single place where the enemy doesn't expect it to damage his ability to wage war and thus negate his advantage. To do that you do not crawl through his lines, you go somewhere where he doesn't have defensive lines and a fuckton of troops and attack there... Talibans didn't beat the americans by slowly crawling through the rocks near their roadblock to take control of the road behind them, because that is stupid, the americans can deploy way faster...

And this has been uncovered recently and now people including me want to see him back (he was funny and also gentle, so a real addition to this group and he didn't deserve to be sent away)
