There was a bit of a diesel shortage so they only put a couple of bucket full in the loco. Just enough to get back to the sawmill - fortunatly downhill all the way.

That is very true, but I am sure this is a fully legal operation. I believe, but cannot confirm that some replanting is taking place at this location. This line suffers from thieft of timber that has already been cut. The thieves drag the logs acress the rail track causing damage

This is number 11 in a series of 14 videos all filmed on the same trip. Have a look at the others you should find lots of steam. It seemed pointless changeing the title of the series just for one clip.

15yeas ago I was part of a convoy carrying aid to Romania and this was they way we were refuelled they scrounged diesel from every where they could.I'm sure some of it was stolen from farm tractors. Did it matter what colour ? no so long as we made it back to the Hungarian border,

I am not sure what you mean by your comment but forestry work in this part of Romania has always been conducted by these methods.

+tirpitz19 you are right with a little exeption...in the communist period there was a program of industrialization and now they cant even paint what the communist have build...I am not a fan of communism but our "democrats" have fucked up everything

Cherestea este o industrie esențială. Lemnul este folosit în multe produse. La Vișeu de Sus au fost creșe de copaci tineri pentru a-i înlocui pe cei tăiați. Nu este un păcat. Timber is an essential industry. Wood is used in many products. At Viseu de Sus there were nurseraries of young trees to replace those cut down. That is not a sin.
