Steam on the Oberalp Pass (Switzerland) - Part 1

Travel on the first steam hauled passenger train over the iconic “Oberalp Pass” since the 1960’s. On a perfect day our vintage train steams along part of the route made famous by the “Glacier Express” between Realp and Disentis. Our immaculately turned out locomotive for the day is F.0.4 built by Winterthur in 1913, fitted with the ABT rack system for operation on the metre gauge Furka-Oberalp Railway.

Hi! Was curious if you have any videos of trains in florida?. Also any from maine, in the Belfast to moosehead lake, it's supposed to be a historic line.

Hi, I live in England and don't visit the USA as often as I would like to, my recent trip to Colorado was a real success and I am keen to visit again as finances and time allows. I am always interested in suggestions, because I can look up the placed recommended on the internet and maybe arrange a visit in future.

Nice one Tim, you certainly get about a bit! Chasing trains across the globe, I can think of worse things to do... Impressed with the speed that loco made considering it has such small wheels.

What are those big clear tunnels at 19:55 ? , I saw them several times throughout the video... they look like giant hamster habitats. BTW, I just found your channel, and love your videos. Excellent filming as well. Thank you. :)

Hi, I can't be sure, but I think they are covered walkways from the stations to the ski lifts, used during the winter months when the area is covered in snow. I'm glad you found this channel and I hope you enjoy watching more videos.

Thanks, I'm originally from Germany, and kind of thought it had something to do with snow during the winter, but never saw anything like them before. I do enjoy your videos and at present watch 2 or 3 a day, catching up on your library, I find them wonderfully relaxing. :)

It's a tank engine, the coal is carried in a bunker inside the cab and the water is carried in the tanks you can see either side of the locomotive.

Hi, on the return trip the loco was much easier to film as I was on the cariage veranda just behind the loco, from where I could see all the action in the cab without being in the way. Just click on the link to watch the driver and fireman at work kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fpykg7Vl0pudYqs.html
