Bonjour Wesley, Beautiful launch indeed ! Which machine is it ? 60 one meter steam model boats will never make one 1 60 meters or less real one 😁 Amicalement, Raphaël

Bonjour Raphaël, she is the oldest steamboat in New Zealand and one of the oldest boats in New Zealand. Built in the 1870's. The engine is 5" bore and 4" stroke built from a horizontal engine cylinder, and a new frame. Valve gear is 'Fink'. Haha yes quite a few wee ones to make one of these. I hope you are having wonderful winter.

Are you going to see any other boats in NZ?......

We swung by the William C Daldy, but got there just after they stopped running the engines. Also took in the wooden boat show and the Aukland Steam Engine Society's exhibit, and a member's private steam shed today. We hope to eventually get to a few NZ private steam launches, the Waimarie, the Hikitia, then our campervan travel to the south island via Picton and and eventually the Earnslaw... We'd love to see the Lyttleton, but apparently it's a hassle with foreigners and port security where she sits right now. You have any suggestions?

it would be great to get some decent YT footage of the Waimarie.....the only steam paddle boat in NZ......@@WesleyHarcourtSTEAMandMORE
