"Chalmers, have you heard of aurora borealis? It's a display of bright curtain-like lights caused by the solar wind interfering with Earth's magnetosphere. It's typically only seen in polar regions. However, in 1926 a man in a polar region needed to make an excuse for why his kitchen was on fire. He said that the aurora borealis caused the light display. The person he was talking to didn't believe him, but when they went outside, they could both see the real aurora borealis. That idea was carried through the morphogenetic field. Many more people than before used aurora borealis to explain why their kitchen was on fire. And the people they talked to saw aurora borealis, even if they were too far from the poles to see them. Were they seeing the real auroras, or were all those kitchens on fire? The morphogenetic field says that the experiences of the first two people resonated with other people. Maybe that's why people thought they saw auroras when kitchens were on fire. ...that said, my kitchen is definitely not on fire." @@yerifes That end actually is the ending where nothing goes wrong to Skinner, and the luncheos gets really unforgeatable. Except that Chalmers died in a car accident and Skinner becomes the new SuperIntendent, and becomes the new ruler of the Universe at his mom's orders.
