This developed from an animation exercise in a course taught by master animator Justin Rasch, with some fixups, some re-shoots, and some extra shots added to make it more of a mini story. I had shot a very brief test of the steam walker before, and wanted to do a bit more with it. ( The early version is included in a video I just uploaded of exercises from the first half of the course.) @@RebelPatriot1889 Sorry I am seeing this 8 months late! I used Lightwave 3d to make the ocean waves in 7th Skol, and also for the rocks where they meet the water. Closer rocks and gravel are models. I think I also used LW to move the cloud layers at different speeds. The foreground with knight and Death was shot frontlight - backlight, each frame shot twice with normal lighting and with light only on the white screen behind. The backlit silhouette acting as a transparency map on a LW object. Mostly I composite things together in TV Paint Animation, a 2d program like photoshop with layers, but loads mov files or image sequences onto a timeline. In this case TVP was used for cropping and resizing the images beforehand and putting in titles afterwards. LW stagnated and pretty much died, and my copy won't run on recent computers, so I boot up the old 2008 Mac to use it only when I have to. But has been bought and revived, so I may get it again when/if they make a version for M1 Macs.
