1983. Salle de la piscine. Je suis parti de Montpellier en auto-stop le matin. J'ai rencontré les membres du groupe sur la rue devant leur hôtel en arrivant à Toulouse. Ils m'ont demandé comment je les avaient reconnus hihi. La dreadlock du chanteur droite sur la tête et dans un chapeau. Soirée mémorable. Je suis québécois . Quelques mois avant j'avai vu Burning Spear dans une petite salle à Québec. Ça ne me rajeuni pas j'en conviens

In 1981 these guys cast a long shadow over Athens, Georgia at a little club called Tyrone's just months before the club burned down in January of '82. Reggae music hit college campuses--expecially UGA--like a bomb with Bob Marley first getting airplay in '80. These guys knocked out all of us wet-behind-the-ears college kids from the suburbs. They had us groovin' so hard and easy for so long at Tyron'es that night...the lead singer (you know his name) told us in the middle of a song, "NOW YOU HAVE FEVAH." (FEVER) And it was true. we were in like a GROOVE TRANCE or something. So when the band stopped and the singer said, "FEVAH, FEVAH, FEVAH...." in time with the rhythm of the song that was no longer playing.... it was a magical moment. A bunch of suburban kids discovered REGGAE FEVER and we were never the same. We had the weed, we just needed more reasons to smoke it more often. They came back the next summer and played the Athens Human Rights Festival and I spoke with the guitarist and the drummer Steve "Grizzly" ______, I forget his last name but they were so approachable and friendly. I asked, "Where are ya'll from ? "Handsworth, Birmingham, England," was the answer. Son, lemme tell ya, these guys are no typical British sticks in tha mud !!!!

All the old guys are gone. It looks like David and Selwin and a group of hired guns now. I've seen them 4 times, and was the opening act twice. They still sound good.
