Most people know, but just in case a few don't understand. The tune "Ten Minutes Ago" is not owned by Disney...yet. It's a Richard Rodgers' melody with Hammerstein, jr. lyrics.

This rendition isn't so impressive, and Stuart Damon probably sang this number 100 times before they had a final take. The same goes for Leslie Ann Warren. It's much more difficult and impressive to perform this number live on stage in one take. BA HA HA HA HA!
@diannebdee6 жыл бұрын
Well Julie Andrews and Jon Cypher performed it live on television in 1957 and performed it in one take. Jon Cypher and Julie Andrews' version is way superior to anything else in that both are classically trained. In the Damon/Warren version it sounds slightly inappropriate.

I enjoyed this movie when it first came out, but it didn't have the same dreamlike, cloudy atmosphere of the original movie. The light, sweet sounding music of the animation gave me a much different feeling than the live action. I prefer the animation to this any day. :)
@Steelee36 жыл бұрын
I think that everyone is allowed to have their own preferences and opinions. In fact that's what enables us to have so many versions of the same story, each one can be made because they know that we are all different and they will all find their target audience. It would be boring if we were all the same, variety is the spice of life. I love this version and adore Lily James, I love the message of courage and kindness but I appreciate your point of view and you taking the time to comment.
@bananabyter6 жыл бұрын
I must agree with Steelee3 here, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I have mine, you have yours. But, as I look farther into it, these two movies aren't the same, and so aren't very good to compare to one another. The original animation was a tale of rags to riches, love at first sight, and overcoming personal problems to find a better life. The original was more magical, like a fairytale. The live action remake is a tale of kindness, romance, loss, and overcoming loss - similar, but different. The remake was more realistic. No talking mice. There was more development in the romance of Ella and the Prince. I personally don't really like romance. The fact that they are also in two different mediums also makes them hard to compare. Cinderella, in the original, was animated perfection. Skinny waist, perfect rosy lips, small feet, pretty blond hair, etc. Cinderella in the remake, portrayed by Lily James, is slightly different; her physical perfections can be interpreted in different ways. For example, I don't think Lily is as pretty as the animated Cinderella, but that's just personal preference. It is much harder to make a live action world appear magical, whereas in Animation, you can draw it in. Also, keep in mind that these were created in two completely different times, and women didn't have as many strong fictional role models as they do now. Anyway, I believe I've said all I can for now. I just personally prefer the animation, that's all. :)

@minoru Watch the Leslie Ann Warren version and you'll see magical version. It's from 1964 and was filmed live. The dress alone is the best dress of any Cinderella ever filmed. I wish I knew this particular feeling where I felt like to feel like I'm flying. While in the arms of a real life real world princess even though it was only a dream. Then I wake up and realize that's all it was just a dream nothing but a dream. And I live the rest of my life the broken heart cuz one point I thought my life could pan out like a fairy tale. NOTE: The music is by Brandy and Paolo Montalban two well respected artists. You took their audio & combined it with Cinderella (2015) which had a predominately white cast. I'm sorry but this just doesn't sit right with me. I'm all about creativity but you have destroyed the beauty of the 1997 Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella with this cut & paste.
@chriiiiis3 жыл бұрын
Dude it ain't that deep. The characters are the same. Race has no effect on the story of Cinderella. I get that the 97 version was a predominantly POC cast, but it's still Cinderella. The story is the same. The vocals are still absolutely wonderful and it could cause someone who hadn't seen the 97 Cinderella to go watch it because of the song in the video. I know I would if I hadn't seen it already.
