I hope you review the Atlas Air first. Been really looking forward to an open back wireless headset for a long time now and already have it on pre-order so I'm hoping it's as good at FPS as the Stealth Pros while also having a really nice microphone 🤞🏼

Hi I hope you play on pc because these atlas are mostly for pc I'm rocking the nova pro wireless fir my ps5 and the astro a50x but haven't touched the astro a50x since I've been using the nova pro wireless I have the new white edition nova pro decked out in the snow white wicked cushions and the snow white silicone band and side plates awesome if you can afford them astro a50x too much bass so I don't think these new turtle beach are going to outshine the nova pro white edition I don't want to downgrade but stay safe and happy gaming to all

Hey Techne, excellent video as always. Not sure if you pointed this out, but another drawback(correct me if I'm wrong) with the Nova 7's is that you can't load any of the recently added presets via PC to the 7's either. I think that option was only capable with the Nova pro's to the basestation.

Even the nova Pros aren't true parametric EQ on console when saved to the dac those profiles are just still graphics Eq they made for the pro with the same names as the sonar parameric Eq for pc, nova 5 and astro a50x at 380£ are only two current headsets I know that can save them, surprised he didn't make a bigger deal about that in this vid. At 130£ it's a no brainer over the nova 7s now

The difference in the mic quality between the Nova 7 and Nova 5’s is mad crazy, My SteelSeries 7p+ Headphones just quit on me and picked up the Nova 5’s and my god they are amazing .

@@Scary69l i had them since dec 2021 , its a video by ifix gears, title of video is “The full way to repair a broken steelseries arctis headphone” thats exactly what happened to my headphones. I didnt know how to describe it but the video perfectly shows exactly how my headphones currently look.

Got the 7’s after watching your reviews and I love them! My favourite headset. Had the old pro wired for 4 years. These sound more full. Better for both story and fps. Some gg tweaking made them even better. But one of the best out the box headsets I’ve had

Not sure if you mentioned but the Bluetooth version is also bumped up on the 5 to 5.3 from version 5.0 on the 7’s. This is good news for the 5 especially with app support you are getting better stability

Thanks for this review. I was thinking: oh shoot I should have gotten the 5x but then you brought up that they don’t support duel inputs and I feel good about my 7x again. Yeah it’s kind of a niche feature but once you get used to it like I did with my old Arctis 3 BT (that was an aux cable and Bluetooth duel input style) it’s hard to go back to other headphones.

Had 7p for a month, sent them back and got nova 5x for PS5 due to the better mic and app support However, I'm not happy with them already and gonna go back to nova 7p because: 1. Headband fits more tight on head and I have a large head, , I get headaches in a hour with nova 5. The all plastic has less clamping vs metal 7 band. 2. Elastic head band is cheaper and doesn't fit as good as nova 7, its too long and allows less adjustments. 3. Ear coverings are cheaper and more rough feeling on skin, not as soft as nova 7 4. App has a hard time connecting to headset if you don't follow exact steps 5. Setting custom eq still requires pc connection, cannot be done on app.

I recently bought the Nova 7X for my PS5 and love it. I was wondering if the app on PC for it, when making or using the premade or custom profiles, ( per frequency tweak or per game name like Destiny, etc) actually carries over to the headset for consoles? Same question about the new 5X.

I used the gg engine on my laptop to EQ them for ps5. Gadgetry tech did a good EQ for these. It just fixed someone of the wonky sound and they sound much better. If you like a clean, natural sound

Would be nice to hear the difference when the mic is in. I have 2019 arctics 9 wireless and i use the mic fully in the cup and it works almost as good as fully extracted.

Depends if you play on console. I got the 7x for my series x last week. I play a lot of cod but also rpgs, you can only save and apply custom presets on the pc And will not be saved\transferred to console as you have to use gg for it I am going to return the 7x I got for €159 and try out the 5x as it’s better for console. The 5x’s app will be able for you to tweak presets and change sounds like footsteps for console!!! The 7x for me was a bit underwhelming, I’m used to a bit more bass and sound like the Logitech g935 which I previously used. The clamping force was also too loose for my head even on the smallest size. So altogether i’am going to try 5x. Even though it doesn’t have Bluetooth simultaneously I don’t mind it because I only use the headset for gaming and nothing else. Sorry for the long answer but I want to make sure you make the right decision before spending money!

Bought logitech headphones probably 2 years ago after watching tons of your review videos about different ones. Great headphones but recently broke its plastic and now looking for new ones can you make a video on the best headphone for FPS gaming like CS2, Valorant and story games under 150 usd wired and wireless both somehow only logitech are ones selling wireless in my country at the same price point as USA where as the hyperx, razor etc the wireless versions sell for 2x prices.

I have the nova 7p and have for about a year. Added the wc ear pads and headband. But my biggest complaint is the loose fit. I have a small head, so when I put my head just down they slide right off. Also I've been told the mic picks up the baby monitors on stream amd in party chat. The other thing the nova 5 doesn't have is a 3.5mm wired capability. It's important to fight wireless interference

same, they just fall when you are bending. My pair had horrible sound even with eq change, returned them and stayed with Pulse 3D

Real bummer BT+2.4 are not simultaneous tho. So the choices for a wireless PC/XBOX headset with this function in this price range are only 7Xs, the Turtle Beach ones, JBL Quantum 910x and official headset, or am I missing something else?

Corsair Hs75, hyperx , Logitech. Corsair has one of the best mics also audio quality better than steel series.

There's a model for each system, 5x (xbox) , 5p (playstation) and 5 (pc) so you probably just gotta get the pc version

Depends on your budget. If you can afford them my beyerdynamic dt 990 pro’s are the best headphones out there. Otherwise audio technica and Sennheiser make good lower end headphones.

Can someone help me with a problem I’m having with nova 7p wireless. Here is my problem I’m playing on Ps5 on MW3 and I can not connect my microphone to the game. I mean at least on PC, if I am playing a racing game, I just play music off the PC anyways and if get a call, I rather switch so I am not distracted. light weight and having the phone app is pretty cool and most headsets (at least the ones I have used) don't do both at the same time anyways so already used to that.

I have the 7+ its an amazing headset i got a nova 5 for my ps5 but the s version but im going to return it and get a 5x because it has the valoume rocker but i dont think playstaion supports it or not , if you are on pc with sonar its going to be amazing on 7+ it does magic but nova 5 mic is better on pc you are not going to notice the difference, the main reason i wanted the 5 on playstation is because of battery life on 3d pulse is bs ( the elite dosent have the game/chat volume rocker so its a down grade in my opinion

Techne! Do you think steelseries is going to upgrade the Arctis Pro Wireless? It's been about 4 years.... The nova 7s are awesome and I love them! But the smaller cups hurt my ears (even with my WCs!) after a couple hours and the Arctis Pro Wireless fits just fine. Thoughts?

of course it is better...wireless, auto plug dongle with no dumbazz wire so it goes right into console, and the app that steel series console users have been asking for since 2015.....so they launch an app that only links with the new headset and didnt even implement the nova 7......cheap and greedy azz company haha the greed in the world is strong these days....money money money also great video as always, love the breakdowns

Nova 5 has Bluetooth and the app. Nova 4 just has the 2.4 dongle, no Bluetooth and no app.

@@sadalwayshappynever642 it came in today. It seems alright. I can’t hear a big difference between the preset eq settings. I can switch back and forth between my ps5 and Apple TV with the quick switch button, but for some reason it doesn’t work with my iPad which is why I tried it with Apple TV. Even though it’s connected in settings and in the app, sound will not play through the headphones and still plays on the iPad itself. Will be contacting support.

Honestly both the mics sound really bad which I think is a deal breaker for me. The Maxwell sound much better and the A50X are actually worlds better. I also don't think the Nova 5's sound better in this video, the Nova 7's definitely sound more 'tiny' but they sound clearer to me. The Nova 5 seems like it's inconsistently pulling away parts of your voice so the volume is almost dipping up and down... not ideal for clarity.

the nova 7 and 7 pro must get the app controll. Otherwise every owner of those will be really pissed. (including me). Imgaine your iphone pro has less features than a friends standart iphone lol

The microphone of nova 5 does sound indeed much clearer, but it cancells out too much sound I think. Because the volume of your voice goes constantly up and down, which is pretty annoying to listen to imo. Am I the only one hearing this?

@@TheTechne btw thank you for all your great and honesh videos. Thanks to you I went for the Nova 7 on Black Friday for only €132 and I'm very happy with the purchase. Only still wondering the difference between the Blackshark v2pro 2023 if I would have liked that one more or not :) The only downside on the nova 7 for me is the mic but it's still okay, and the clamping force is maybe a bit too light. For the rest amazing headset!

@@EagleGhost8 I think you did good! Yeah the mic is better on the BS but overall the 7’s are great. If on pc I always recommend a stand alone mic.

@@TheTechne yep I'm on pc but I do league racing as well so to use a stand alone mic and constantly move it is a bit annoying as I already always move my screen to the racing seat. But still need to figure that out indeed and to check which one is the best for me and not to expensive at all.

Techne, you need to keep the boom mic further from your mouth in general. A thumb width is insane. You’re not in a helicopter. Give your teammates ears a break dude. Try a thumb length next time.
