I agree. I can see Don saying this to Walter. Also perhaps the most direct and non-ironic.

I think it is more of an observation than a truly negative take, but Barry Town has a free and uplifting sound to it for me.

"Any MAJOR dude with HALF a heard surely will tell you, my friend. Any MINOR world that breaks apart falls together again." Major, Half, Minor just thrown in for good measure. These dudes were on another level.

Don's vocals!! He was so brilliant; sure the rest was excellent, but for a shy bloke? He really is superb. I'm fairly certain that a lot of you dig the songs, the chords, the noise, the instrumentation, the lyrics, the engineering. Spare some love for how superb Don was.

I completely agree with your assessment of Donald's delivery. Many other singers would sound like they were caught in a "Word Salad".... but not Donald. His phrasing is so unique. That may be the reason that not many bands cover Steely Dan. Great reaction, guys. Take care.

Amazing songwriting, top-notch playing, perfect length song that leaves you wanting more. For most bands it's their big hit, for Steely Dan...its a sleeper.

Being close brothers I guess each of you are that "Major Dude" to each other. And for a slow paced song there was a lot going on in the background coming from the bass. In any event, you guys have a Major Dude day. Peace,...........

Such a smooth, quiet one 😊. We saw Steely Dan (RIP Walter Becker) last night in Newark, NJ; they opened for the Eagles. Both were wonderful, Steely Dan is my favorite music, but I must say the Eagles killed it!!! He opened with “Josie”, he did Peg, Kid Charlemagne, Black Friday, Rikki Don’t Lose That Number, My Old School and Reelin In The Years”. Gentlemen, I cannot wait for you to react to “JACK OF SPEED”; I think you will be further impressed by Steely Dan ❤.

The band musicians listen to at home. Every record was done by hand picked guys in studio. Who ever fit the vibe for a solo or a special sound in any given song. Fagan and Becker were the band, plus the great artists they had join in studio. Check Kid Charlemagne and Black Friday. Also Royal Scam and Daddy dont live in Ny City no more. Greats all.
