What were the opening and closing tunes?
@tomcook87115 ай бұрын
I have a fantasy that the band performs the theme from Jonny Quest by Hoyt Curtin for the final intro tune. They would need to add the sound effects for the gun shots and explosions. The trombone solo is notoriously difficult. This band can pull it off! Just as the song comes to it's climax Fagan strolls out on stage.🙂

My wife and I attended a SD show at PNC Pavilion at Charlotte a few years ago. We sprang for some pretty pricey tickets. This guy sitting ahead of us starting acting out like he was tripping or something, turning around and mugging at us and others sitting around, running his mouth, standing and sitting, waving his arms, picking at his friends, etc. etc. I felt bad for his friends, they were clearly embarrassed. I was so mad. If he had laid his hands on me or my wife I don't know how I would have reacted. After putting up with this for too long I finally talked to a security person. After a little persuasion they walked him out, still behaving like a spoiled child. Pretty well ruined the show for us. Moral of the story is don't wait to notify security.

Nice concert...question...how were you able to hold the camera that still throughout? Were you using a tripod because you couldn't have been holding a phone still that long
@btrustman5 ай бұрын
We had loge seats, which have a countertop with a plexiglass edge that is about a foot tall, so I leaned the phone against the plexiglass, and covered it a bit on the camera side with a napkin to block the lights reflecting in the plexiglass. The downside is that the surface reflected/magnified any voices of people talking around me... but it's a public concert so what can you do :)

For the life of me I can not find the names of all the band members on this tour. Does anybody know? Hard to believe Jim Beard just passed away on March 2nd? He was a member of Steely Dan since 2008 and had been touring recently with the band on the Eagles’ current “Long Goodbye” tour. I'm assuming this is from that tour? Looks like Jim last played with the band on Jan. 20th. Sad loss.
@robertcondren34005 ай бұрын
Yes, very said about Jim Beard. Here is a Wikipedia to current member when you scroll down. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Steely_Dan_members It looks quite accurate. I saw them yesterday night. No mention was made of Beard but I'd like to think they were thinking of him, in spirit. Fantastic show! Everyone , including Fagen on their A game.

Very sad. He was a gifted musician, arranger, composer, and a very fine human being. The band I think in this concert is: Roger Rosenberg, Bob Sheppard, Michael Leonhart, Jim Pugh, Keith Carlock, Larry Goldings, Carolyn Leonhart, La Tanya Hall (?), Jamie Leonhart, Freddie Washington, Adam Rogers, Jon Herington.

@jimdep65425 ай бұрын
@@btrustmanWow ! I've never seen that happen at a concert before...but I haven't been to a show in decades. I used to go a lot when it was still affordable, and that was before I became a full time player back in the late 70's.
@tomcook87115 ай бұрын
Well look at it this way, people behind have also paid a lot of bucks for those seats and if the stage is not too high the folks standing will block the view of the performers. Keep your seat during the song, after the song is over, stand, yell and cheer and raise a little hell then sit down. That shouldn't bother the folks behind, if the performance is good enough they may stand as well. Take a load off and enjoy. 😊
@jimdep65425 ай бұрын
@@tomcook8711 That's the way it used to be and that was the etiquette most people respected. I liked shows that were general admission too, where if you wanted to move around, it was ok because you weren't tied down to a seat. I remember shows too such as Santana in the early 70's, that when Carlos was soloing, people would stand up and they'd sit back down when he wasn't.

Saw SD a couple of times at PNC Pavilion at Charlotte over the last 8 or 9 years (outdoor). We had pretty decent seats, left side, maybe row 20 or so. Acoustics were awful, could not really hear Jon Herrington. PNC seems to have a rep for poor acoustics. I will say though we saw the Eagles in the CLT colosseum (indoor) and the sound was amazing. Not very loud at all, but very clear no distortion unless it was part of the song.
