Straight off the black top and we are into it, low range 4WD heading up Mount Margaret Track.
It's just out from Licola in the Vic High Country, and it's a crackin 4WD track to begin with.
This track is very steep and rocky all the way up to the heli pad.
I have travelled many of the 4WD tracks in the Vic High Country.
Like many of the 4WD tracks around the Vic High Country, they have stunning mountain views, steep 4WD tracks and river crossings. This trip had all of that and more.
We spent a very cold night at high elevation in alpine snow country along Dingo Hill Track, and woke to a very cold and frosty morning.
Nothing that a morning campfire and a hot cupa wouldn't fix to get us warmed up.
After breakfast we packed up and headed off for the tight down hill switch backs on Dingo Hill Track.
The drive down along Caledonia River Track was pretty easy going, compared to other 4WD trips I've done alone that track.
The track climbs steeply up onto the Howitt High Plains. We had pretty good weather so the tracks were nice and dry.
What a great trip across the Vic High Country.

Tim Mate , absolutely breathtaking scenery. And so interesting to see it.. I am lucky I have seen so much of this beautiful country .I love painting the trees especially the ghost gums .. I don't think we will doing the rough tracks ,as we check the prices of the Toyota's, bloody hell they charge like a wounded bull.Wifey wants to get a new Kia carnival and just go camping and travelling .Cannot afford 2 vehicles and a home when we get back ..Her visa is still 14 months away... She even watches your videos with me and thoughly enjoys them .Especially the way you take the time to answer your viewers.. heh time. Something you like ..baked beans ...I made them today as you cannot buy them here they import them in from Australia, cost an arm and a leg ..Mine turned out nearly the same as brought ones .. Looking forward to your next video as many others are too .You are a legend Mate ... Kev ,from northern Thailand

Awesome Tim, I really love your videos. Did you fit side walls to your awning overnight to keep yourself that little bit more protected from the elements? If not, when do you fit them (if at all?). And go the garlic chicken Kiev sambo for lunch. That's an 11 out of 10 for ingenuity in my eyes!!!

Gday mate, No, I didn’t fit side walls. I don’t have them. I do have an extension sheet to make the awning longer, but thst went over the bonnet. I only use that if I’m base camping up for a few nights. That lunch was gold mate. Lol Thanks for your reply. Cheers Tim.
