a lot of main dancers have very strong dance foundations before becoming trainees, so the fact that taeyong's skills were only developed after he got accepted in the company really goes to show the insane amount of work he put in those 4 years of training and continues to put in till this day! thank you for the video, would love to see more of these type of analysis!

my baby is so talented. he has choreographed a lot of their dances even since rookies when he was just learning how to dance. he has done a lot of dances for 127 songs for songs that didnt have one but he felt they should and wanted to highlight the members and their personal strengths

My fav bit of Taeyong-dance-lore is from Kick It - Taeyong is often known for collabing and working with their choreographers to help make NCT's choreo, and the choreographers often praise him for his contributions and for putting his spin on moves, and you can see that directly in Kick It. In the main choreography for the chorus, when their hands are up for 'new thangs', everyone else's hands are in fists (that's the original choreography), but Taeyong has his fingers pointed and his hands open. That part of the choreo is so iconic that whenever someone covers the dance they always do Taeyong's version of the chorus instead of the original version. Without Taeyong NCT would not be who and what they are today, I'm convinced!!

I'm not a dance professional but I'm working in comics and animation industry who stressed on visual expressions and dynamic motion, my opinion about Taeyong, when everybody can dance very well, Taeyong kind of go one step ahead adding dramatic effects in his movements and he do it at the right moment when our attention is at the peak. He's moving according to the persona and storyline of the song and he do it differently in every song he dance, thus creates something refreshing to the eyes in his every performances. Unpredictable, strong, smooth but violent at the same time. Taeyong is one of the person who falls into my uncanny valley (in a good way of course) he's unreal but real.

From being called a bad dancer who knew nothing about dance to becoming one of the best dancer and ace of k-pop Lee Taeyong came a long way. His hardwork really paid off. This man is such an inspiration to everyone I'm so so so proud of him for proving everyone wrong who doubted him and his abilities.

Taeyong is the main dancer in NCT, he trained and help NCT members when they begin come to SM, including Ten :) but unfortunately, he does not have changed to let people know how perfect he is. TY is the best 🌹👑

I really feel like Taeyong was kind of destined to be a dancer. I mean, at the moment he is one of the most talented and good dancers I’ve ever seen. Just as they said, what makes him an amazing dancer is basically the way he moves, how clean and perfect his moves look, it’s nice and satisfying to see him dancing. Although I am not the best dancer to say otherwise, I really think he found what was deep down hidden in him. He found a passion, and can completely get what kind of passion he has towards dancing cause I have the same love for dancing. And feel proud of him, cause being part of an entertainment in which the rest of the trainees have talent can be overwhelming for someone who hasn’t discovered the talent he had inside. Until now, he proved that you don’t need to be “born” doing something for you to be good at it, if you are passionate about it, then go ahead. It doesn’t matter your age or how much experience you have in that area, if you like it and you want to improve, find a way to be the best. I think more that a talented artist he is an inspiration for those who think that it is “too late” to learn something, it really doesn’t matter.

Taeyong is such a rare talent. Also, wanted to note that he helped to choreograph Zoo! He’s helped to choreograph a lot of dances for both himself and NCT 127.

Taeyong is also an impactful choreographer and trendsetter with 2 viral choreography challenges ( Zoo, Love Theory ) and he has been choreographing since pre-debut and in his group too ( Summer 127, Bring the Noize, etc.) which are loved by people. He is hugely recognized, praised and respected by professional dancers, choreographers and experts in both Korea and Globally. He is a genius idea bank who has given so many of his brilliant creative ideas to Nct MVs , for example - the finger hook/signature step in kick It and the chandelier scene in make a wish. Taeyong had no dancing background prior to joining SM Entertainment and becoming their trainee, the main point of how he got into SM in the first place was because of his looks despite the lack of skills. In fact he was said to be so terrible at dancing that one of his trainers flat out gave up on him and said he had no chance in becoming an idol. Look at him now, he is the Leader of NCT127 and NCT as a whole, he is part of their MAIN Dancer line, he is the center in some of their dance breaks, he leads their dance practices. Just goes to show people that if you're terrible at dancing DON'T mean you're a terrible dancer what you need is a strong mindset, practice, and dedication to improve. HARD WORK DOES PAY OFF. Still don't believe me? ATEEZ Choi San is also another example of a terrible dancer to a great dancer.

Pointed to everything that's characteristic of his style that even the non-dancer fans are aware of (because of bts footages, interviews etc): being the SM centre man, the ballet influence, use of neck, details with hands, fondness for isolation, engagement with the camera... And the important fact he started dancing in his late teens. THIS is why reaction/crit videos should have an actual fan input!

From what I understand his understanding of musicality from before debut and since now has a lot change. He is some kind of dancer who let music flow inside of them, he doesn't really wait for bass and snaps to come for him, he's just going on flow and his body kinda adapt everything surround him. The one thing that I like a lot in this video is that when he started even though he's energy is really on point and movements are also quite sharp but he doesn't let himself be groovy sometimes he kinda seem stiff but later on we can see his stage presence is improved a lot and his body is more groovy rather than focusing on hit every beat, snaps and bass he just let it go through and felling it, he's stiffness is gone now. And the fact I really like about him in this video is also that when he's in center he knows the meaning of it. He really executes every moves with grooviness and that became the highlight of that moment. Correct me if I'm wrong somewhere btw I'm also learning dance and not professional on this but this is what I judged from this video😅

I could never articulate why is it that Taeyong looks so cool when performing, I’m glad experts react to his performance! I also love how Isabel pointed out that Taeyong’s style is very SM where they focus on creating images. It shows that he’s purely trained under SM and that he has a very good understanding of what to showcase too but it also looks like it comes naturally to him. He’s a genius performer!

No one is definitely like him indeed. Taeyong you are my pride and it's an honor to be your supporter!

His growth is absolutely incredible and sooo inspiring he started dancing late yet he's this good it's just insane, he is easily one of the best dancers in kpop but nobody really brings his name out when naming idol dancers but he is the pillar and centre of NCT and not just in 127 but with everyone he still manages to keep you focused and leads the group so well with matched energy. This is propably the first one out of all of these videos that youve done, where i wouldnt add anything. This had Everything i wanted to see, a good scale to see his versatility. He is definetly one of my favorite performers, not even a NCT bias but SM BIAS. Ive been following him too from pre-debut days and with all the progress we've seen, i really do think he has the potential to reach Taemin level as a dancer. He doesnt always shine in his group choreographys but thats because i think he has more important role to do there, being the one tying the performance/members together and not to stand out individually, but in his solo stuff he surely has all the needed potential. Taeyong is such a top-tier performer and has never once sacrificed the smaller movements or rushed through choreos which I've noticed seems to be the case of many boy group performers in an effort to appear "more powerful/aggressive". Every movement is important to him and is precise and executed with intention; he's not just following the choreo, but actually interpreting the music and allowing his body to express it accordingly like a true artist. This might be why he's known for his magnetic stage presence because he's truly PRESENT with the music. It's nothing short of awe-inspiring the amount of brutal hardwork he's put in to hone his skills to be where he is now. Especially considering he had no prior dance experience before joining the company. So he deserves all these praises and even more!

Thank you so much for making this video. Taeyong works so hard and went from no dancing experience and being told to quit to being amazing and my personal favorite Kpop dancer. They way he dances and moves his body is so unique and I feel like he’s underrated and doesn’t get as much credit for his abilities even more so now that it was revealed recently that their dance teacher told him that if NCT doesn’t do good on their upcoming comeback then its all Taeyong fault which is messed up and I can’t even imagine the stress he must be going through and how much he’s pushing himself even through his injuries.
