It is a show, a TV Show and in the end, the guy with the idea wins. Free advertising. Actually, I think this guy will end up making a good living from his idea if he manages to patent it and gets it to a LARGE beverage distributor. For sure more than what he makes now at his current job. Because if he tries to market it by himself, the Chinese will kill him in a New York Second.
@llokkee
@llokkee 4 жыл бұрын
I get that, but balance the chances of him making millions by himself or with making millions with 2 dragons on board. Its easy to see the likely hood of him making it at all increases ten fold with the latter. The odds are stacked against him with the former and thats the risk you must take. It's just not easy getting past the first post with the fact ur initially giving away a large chunk of ur hard earned work. It is a gamble thats for sure but one he should've took.

What if you want the one in the middle because it's colder (been in the fridge longer) or if it's a different type of beer? You don't just have to stack all the same brand/type of beers on the Rakastaka - maybe Peters missus stacks her bottles of Bacardi Breezer on top of his Budweiser's.

@@sine0 They don't need any blueprint for this or many other products. They can just look at it and figure it out. I'm actually glad that the copyright obsession, which is abused by companies all the time, isn't respected by Chinese. Billions are spent on lawyers arguing how something basic that's in every device is their patent. It holds back development immensely, this is why nowadays the real progress is made in open source.

The Dragons shot themselves in the foot by being to greedy. You can see it in Theo's eyes when he, somewhat nervously, puts his foot down at 20%. @11:41 You can see he was screaming inside "please take the offer". @@DiscoFang yeah I think Rachel ruined it for him. Prior to that he was up for negotiation, but when she came in Theo had no where to move. Its pretty ridiculous on her part to not want to move - typically you would always do that, even if to smoothen the business relationship going forward, provided it was not close to a hard line, which 40% isn't (given his sales estimates).

Mike CS Company valuations are hard to do - and highly debated - even for well-established companies with a solid history of profitability. For new companies, with essentially no history, estimates of potential profit, cashflow, and profit are hugely variable. The slightest of things could see a new company's value move by massive amounts (in percentage terms). To confidently assert, for example that a fledgling company is definitely not worth (say) 500k, is pure folly.

@@tonycorke4240 gotta haggle though. If the inventor went in with a really low valuation, then more investors would probably take a punt. Sadly this guy wasnt willing to flex too much
@tonycorke4240
@tonycorke4240 4 жыл бұрын
@@SkellyHell Haggling only makes sense if you've a firm basis on which to base an accurate valuation. I don't think the entrepreneur, nor the Dragons, have that basis. My point is that valuations of companies this new are, essentially, almost purely subjective, so it's impossible to say whether the inventor or the Dragons should've been more flexible.

I think they could have come to a deal, if their contacts were good, they could really have done something with it. That being said, whenever I've bought a box of beers, they have a perforated line that you can tear. Allows you to retrieve a bottle without beer flying, either that or you lay they a different way and take from the edge of the box. Then of course for wine bottles, if you have a serious amount of wine you’ll usually buy a wine rack of some kind or you have the wine racks that come in the fridge usually. These days I would have to say it's a good product but I wouldn't see it selling an absolute ton due to the ease and adoption of storage methods I listed above. ALTHOUGH, adjusting them to make some kind of camping stack solution is interesting and the fact you can carry the stack without them dropping would be beneficial.
