While I like many feel awful for Sinner after losing 5-set epics to Djokovic at Wimbledon, Alcaraz in the US Open, and now Tsitsipas at the AO, it shows that he’s incredibly consistent and competitive against anyone at the Grand Slam level, and only loses matches to the best of the best. His time will come.

I love Tsitsipas’ attitude right now. Seems like he’s all smiles, working his ass off and in one of those moods he gets into where it becomes so hard to break his serve. At the handshake he seemed to have a nice conversation with sinner too. If someone takes Djokovic out, I’d love to see Tsitsipas get his first slam here. I don’t see him beating Djokovic in the final if they both get there unfortunately.

Tsitsipas is showing tremendous mental toughness. He loves playing at AO having reached the semifinals 3 out of the last 4 years including the last 2 years. If Sinner can control his various injuries he will contend for Top 5 rankings along with Alcaraz and Rune. Of course, let’s not forget about the original Next Gen trio: Medvedev, Zverev and Tsistsipas. I still see a Djokovic vs Tsitsipas final with the winner also getting the No. 1 ranking.

Tsitsipas has been going deep for awhile. He keeps working and has great results. I think that if he wins a G.S. soon, it will be a true culmination. He’s got the power and strength to match the best, but if it comes down to racket-handling, there are better. In this matchup, I think Sinner is the better racket handler. He’s like early Federer, imho, yes that good. But Tsitsipas got in some big strikes from his backhand, which is a beauty. The drop shots from Sinner were great. Tsitsi is an off-balanced server, but has a complete game and no big weaknesses. Since he has beaten Sinner, I hope he can take it further.

Interesting that 95% of Stefanos' game consists of bludgeoning the opponent with cannon shots from the backcourt, when in fact he actually has good touch and a nice net game. Seems to work for him, but I wonder if he could find success with a more aggressive Fed-style game.

How to make Better Highlights: - Include points from the last set - Include the best points from the match, not just random winners - Include points from the highest-pressure moments of the match, not random selections
@netfun8087
@netfun8087 Жыл бұрын
My opinion, I’m curious what others think: when you play Tsitsipas the dropshot HAS to figure into your arsenal significantly. He is too good from the baseline, his baseline coverage is amazing, he can track deep balls down and hit a winner from anywhere (partly because he has a tendency to park behind the baseline and go into defense mode, then switch up and hit a winner). Every Sinner dropshot in this highlight reel was a winner, and none were particularly awesome dropshots.
@AinSoph73

Agree with everything except quality of dropshots; they were so well disguised and placed so well that Tsitsipas hit the deck more than once.
@netfun8087
@netfun8087 Жыл бұрын
@@AinSoph73 so true. Sometimes I forget that disguise is just as important a part of dropshot technique as the actual mechanics of hitting the dropshot. A well disguised dropshot is frankly better than a beautiful dropshot that is telegraphed to your opponent. And Sinner’s were absolutely well disguised.

Ya tsitsipas doesn't generally seem to like to chase dropshots, which I think motivates his opponents to play it more. Even in his recent matches against Djokovic I see a lot of dropshot winners from Novak. As athletic as tsitsipas is, I expected him to be able to chase a few at least. Also he's gotta do something about those shoes. He seems to be slipping and sliding a bit much

MALES - Félix Auger-Aliassime out, Zverev is out, Rudd out, Berrentini out, Nadal out (although, in my opinion, he has been testing his body too much especially since what happened at French Open 2022 and now he is injured again), Thiem is out, Fritz out, Murray out. FEMALES: Coco out, Swiatek (World No. 1 is out), Sakkari out (fittest woman on tour, it seems, while Ostapenko who may not appear “fit” is through to the Quarterfinals), Jabeur is out, Anisimova is out (although her game has been off lately), and Keys is out too. Tsitsipas needs to change his Adidas shoes. He slipped to many times ! I would change to either Nike or Asics. 🤣🤣

Australian Open TV: I'm gonna keep asking this to the nausea: can you please stop spoiling the video by only putting the face of the winner on the thumbnail? Come on, it's not a difficult thing to do.

@@marcovela4074 I am trying to repeat it ad nauseam, maybe at some point the intern who is in charge of this is going to read it. It's funny how they spent all this time to create these highlights, but they decided that it's a good idea to spoil the result on the image.

Hey, in the nicest possible way, can you avoid spoiling the outcome in the thumbnail please? Every video has a picture of the winner of the match in the thumbnail. Pls try to make more ambiguous, maybe just put a picture of both players at an emotive point rather than just a winner, or put the loser one day as a surprise yanno. Anyways, thanks for the highlights I appreciate the free content :)
