Steinway Artist Lang Lang performs Beethoven's "Für Elise" on the Lang Lang Steinway Black Diamond Limited Edition. Of the piece, Lang Lang says: “For me it is very romantic, and light, like a feather. It has to come from nowhere and it has to touch people. It can’t just be treated as background music. I’ve tried to play the piece as the masterpiece that it is, and I hope that children who begin learning 'Für Elise' will treat it the same way.”

Just because it is coined as the "most common classical piece" or the "noob" piece, doesnt mean it has lost its reputation but it is actually the other way around. The more I listen to Lang Lang, the more I am amazed by him. It's difficult to describe, but when he plays, he gives the piano something akin to voice, soul, mind, or direction. He can give notes weight, or make them fly. He can stretch them, and make them bounce, and rebound. He is an artist at the highest level, eliciting things from the piano that I have never heard from other players.

So I have because immune to this piece. This is the first time I watched this video and it brought me to tears. Thank you Lang Lang. First you listen to music, Then you like, You then love it, You then get attached to it. Then you let music come into you, your ears, your heart your soul. Then you let go of yourself and immerse yourself in music Then you become the music. THEN THE MUSIC becomes YOU. Für Elise always gives me chills when played right, but this… this was a whole other level. They played it so well, you could tell they poured their soul into the piece. When I was very young we lived in Germany; my Mom made me take piano lessons with a German teacher; she taught me 'Fur Elise", which, somehow, I still remember it; Also, when living in Germany, Mom and I went to several recitals of classical music, such as Beethoven,.Bach..etc...that's when I heard my utmost long-time favorite: PACHEBEL'S CANON. Through all these years (I'm 76) I still weep whenever I listen to this incredibly beautiful piece of true art..

@@OganySupreme yes that's true, but "incredibly simple" seems to suggest that every beginner would be able to play it, and maybe that's true for the first famous part of the piece, the rest doesn't seem that easy, especially compared to other things (I can play quite well the Prelude in C of Bach for instance)

I'm saying the second part that starts at 0:56 (altough here is played quite slowly ), especially the fast part at 1:09-1:15 and also the third part (2:06-2:46), altough again here's is played very slowly so it looks easy (actually I think that both parts, that are contrasting in mood to the main theme are better played faster and louder)

I was once in an old piano keyboard class and one of the other students worked ahead at home (unlike most of us he had his own keyboard). He could only do the beginning of this song but he put so much emotion in it that all of us stopped to listen to him and when he was done with the part he knew we applauded him like he just put on a concert. I had tears welling up in my eyes it was so good. Even though he only knew part of it and he was new at learning the piano, that little bit of music he played was honestly the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard on the piano. And I listen to piano music often. This version of the song is the closest I've heard to it. 👏👏👏
