Mr. C is a living legend in OPM industry. It's a great honor for Stell to sing his song. And Stell did not disappoint. Mr. C commented after Stell's performance that the future of OPM is secured. (non verbatim).

During the curtain call, Stell can be seen at the farthest end of the stage, too shy to mingle with the big stars present, among them Regine and Martin Nievera and theather bigwigs. He was not aware of the impact he created that night. And he carried the name of SB19 as well as he was introduced as Stell of SB19.

That last part where he went really high (don't know the technical term) was a surprise to Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, and everybody involved in the production who had seen the rehearsals, because Stell, who was conserving his voice, never belted it until during the performance. In a post-con interview he acknowledged that he should've sung it that way during the rehearsal; he was probably trying to see whether he could pull it off. And he did. Magnificently. That's why after Stell walked away, Mr. C addressed the audience in Tagalog, "Were you shocked?" and the audience laughed; he was probably the most surprised that Stell sang it differently. He was visibly impressed with Stell that night. Mr. C added, "So good!" And then he narrated what Ms. Celeste Legaspi, an OPM icon and one of the producers, had told him after she saw and heard sing during the technical rehearsal - "(Sigh)...Celeste told me, 'The future of Philippine music is secured.'"

His perf brought the house down. He had the loudest applause. That final note where Stell brought it higher, he said that was not what they rehearsed. He said he took a chance and pulled it off flawlessly. It was cut at the end of this video but Mr C asked the audience “Were you shocked? So goooood!” Maybe bec he knew most of the attendees did not expect that from - in their minds - a member of a relatively unknown Ppop boy group. SB who?? But we A’tin who were there were so proud of Stell, our hearts swelling with pride.

"It's a rare occasion to get to sing with a full orchestra!" Yes, and not just any orchestra but the leading orchestra in the country, The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and being conducted by the Maestro himself, the very loved national artist, Mr. C. There's also a saying, if Mr. C asked you to perform Sometime, Somewhere it means he really respects your craft and you have now his blessings. Hence the serious preparation and nervousness of Stell. He was interviewed after and there he shared that during SB19 practices he told Pablo if he could rest his voice without hitting high notes until his performance on Mr. C's Birthday special concert. Btw, I wish your composition would reach him and eventually become part of his future solo album.

This song is an original composition by the Maestro Ryan C himself over 20 yrs.ago for a popular music icon Basil Valdez released in 2003. Later it was re-arranged for Asia's Songbird Ms. Regine Velasquez during Maestro's 50th.bday celeb. FF 2024, Stell is ❤personally handpicked to deliver this masterpiece in the occassion of The Maestro's 70th.bday. Thank you for making us realize how special Stell is.

I'm guessing SB19's performances together with Ms Regine played a big part why Stell was picked for this song. Mr C might have seen that Stell can sing on par with Ms Regine. This is just speculation on my part.

It was Mr. C himself who gave those words at the tail end of his statement after Stell's performance as Stell was exiting from the stage. Mr. C's exact words: "Na-shock kayo? Ang galing! Haaayyy....mabuti na lang, secure na ang Philippine music (OPM)."

Thank you so much coach Juliet for always loving our sunshine, Stell... Many show-goers said that Stell's performance was the highlight of the show. Even older generations that do not know SB19 praised Stell's performance, and they were amazed at how high his voice is. Even theater and broadway singers are all praises for Stell's performance. Ms. Lea Salonga was also amazed with Stell's voice.

After Stell's performance, he said that he is still shaking lol, cause it is his once in a lifetime dream to perform with the orchestra and thanking Mr. Ryan Cayabyab to perform on his 7oth birthday tribute. Gonna re-write my long-a$$ comment coz it got deleted by YT. Hahaha! I was really excited about your reaction to this, Ms. Juliet, coz I want to hear it from the expert. You have no idea, but the amount of praise that Stell got that night from legends, icons, and those theater/musical goers (who don't even know that SB19 exists) outpoured since that night and even the MAESTRO RYAN CAYABYAB himself cannot stop talking about Stell. Even MS. LEAH SALONGA commented that Stell's voice is unreal. She's very meticulous when it comes to vocals and doesn't give praises often so we cannot believe our eyes. Even those who attended Day 2 were expecting Stell after hearing about his stellar performance on Day 1, but unfortunately, he was only scheduled for Day 1. What a time to be a BERRY/A'TIN. Also, MR. C posted on Facebook that there will be a collaboration with Stell coming soon. My Stellberry heart is so happy!

Mr. Ryan Cayabyab was interviewed after that show and he said that Stell's performance is phenomenal as if he's in a coliseum with 100 thousand audience. He's one of our Nationalist Artist. Miss Lea Salonga also tweeted in X... Oh my God!!! He's voice is unreal!!! Stell our heavenly voice Ajero deserved all those praises. His talent and his personality are just incredible. I was waiting for your reaction to this…. It was overwhelming for me as a fan to read all the praises/comments on their own social media pages by those big name theater artist (both performers of the night and some theater artist on the audience side). Some of them even openly expressed their desire to hopefully have Stell perform with them on a musical one day. Who knows… maybe it was the collab Mr. C is talking about…. Maybe it is already brewing…. I’m manifesting for it because my heart would want to see Stell check off another one on his bucket list as he mentioned before on one of his interviews that he would want to do a musical someday.

Trivia: stell did not practice that high note in the end of the song nor their rehearsals. Stell said he is reserving it to condition his voice. So he did it on the spot.

Among all the seasoned artists that performed on Day 1, Stell was the youngest, the newbie but he was the highlight of the night. This was originally sung by Basil Valdez in 2003. Stell sung in the key of Regine Velasquez. He surprised everybody, including Mr C, when he belted that last part as he didn't do it during rehearsals. Mr C asked the audience if they were shocked. He said that was soo good!!! And he said the future of the Filipino music is secured.

Thank you for this, Coach! Not that Stell was looking to prove himself but this was a moment of recognition for him as main vocal in the mainstream OPM world (he was called a virtual unknown in one news article) and an introduction to the vocal prowess of SB19. Mr C originally gave this song to another stellar singer, Basil Valdez, in the early 2000s. The only other person who sang by personal request is Regine Velasquez. Stell is on the very short list of artists handpicked to sing Sometime, Somewhere and I could not be prouder of him!

Coach people that attend to this musical are casuals, people on high status and few only know stell and sb19 because of gento. The A'Tin that attend mentioned were crying, and being so proud like a parent to their child. A'Tin who attend tell stories about people first reaction hearing stell. Many are amazed.

Exactly my first thought was inspired by Gershwin, like old movie theme songs. This is an original Filipino music composed by Mr C in 1980 sang by Basil Valdez later on by Regine Velasquez. Her version and range was Stell's basis to learned and rehearsed. The last note was not rehearsed with Mr C, he said as he was saving his voice, which is why everybody was surprise at the end.

It's not just the voice and the range. The way he told the story thru singing. Cried listening on several repeats. Mr C said after Stell's performance you're shocked right? he's great right? the Philippine music is secured The original song was sung by a male legendary singer Basil Valdez, then a legendary female singer Regine Velasquez. Now Stell of course he sang it with the female key He's made for this Disney, Theater goosebumps when Stell and Mr.C bowed at the same time the respect This was Stell's dream to perform with an orchestra and now with all the legends they say he was the most applauded and talked about after the show

I would also suggest that you check out the first 2 versions by Mr. Basil Valdez and Ms. Regine Velasquez (Asias Songbird). Stell did really one of the best renditions of this song. Not just because he belted and sang his heart out, but with the interpretation and the emotions that he showed. Well deserved applause for our sunshine boy. And yet he stayed very humble and down to earth. We A'Tin are so proud. ***tears🥹🥹🥹🥹***

Hello Ms. Juliet. I also wait for your reaction to Stell's performance and see how you appreciate his talent. Thanks for the song you said you composed for him. Hope he gets to sing it soon. In the interview he made after his performance, he was still beaming with happiness and posted later that his heart was still so full of joy being given the opportunity to perform among legendary and professional artists of the country. We are all so proud of him!

Hi Julieth...the one who took the video is seated near the orchestra. It was really prohibited to take videos there. The song was composed by Ryan Cayabyab..abt a TRUE LOVE THAT IS WILLING TO WAIT FOREVER..He took a female key but raised it a little higher..

Mr Ryan Cayabyab is our National Artist for music awarded in 2018 that is why Stell was so happy to perform one of his song ,Mr Cayabyab is the composer of the most iconic singer in the Philippines , Stell i believe sang it in Regine Velasques key
