Even though you are only allowed 1 juggernaut, if your vassal gets one by tech advancement and you absorb the vassal, you get to keep the juggernaut. Wiped the preorthyn scourge by that strat. 👍

Worth noting for the Titan Auras: The enemy debuffs are objectively better than the allied buffs, because the allied buffs only affect ships in the same fleet as the Titan, but the debuffs affect every ship in every enemy fleet.

But doesn't that again depends on your fleet doctrine and strategy? If you have not specialised fleets, in terms of naval capacity it is easily possible to have one titan for every fleet, and the titan most often dies as the last ship, because of its range. If you get more specialized fleets, pike corvette only fleets and then fleets with multiple titans that's a different story tho

Does you know if Titan Debuffs stack? Ex. 2 Titans running-20% shields, does that give -40%?

@@HelpFromAbove1 i don't think so, because else you could stack some pretty weird stuff in late game, giving your opponent -100 fire rate so he can't shoot you

Best use I've found for frigates is sneak attacking starbases at the start of a war. Sitting right on top of the starbase before you decloak means you get the torpedo strike off immediately and there is no chance for them to be intercepted.

In my latest game where I played as a criminal syndicate where my every neighbors hated me and thus closed their border to me, I built myself a specialized stealth fleet composed of only corvettes and frigates that were all equipped with cloaks that I would use as enforcers and vanguard, with my other normal ones I kept around for defense, and I was shocked with how effective they were. While the lack of shield can be detrimental, it is made irrelevant if you have good cloak levels (tech + subterfuge tradition) as I could effectively move my fleet right over the enemy and simply attack right from the get go, which was quite effective as the frigate issue of low range with torpedoes was rendered non-existent as they could launch them right at the start of battle. By the mid/late game my cloak was so strong I could go into fallen territory and not get detected, and I have never seen leviathans die quicker than against this fleet. Like literal seconds kind of lenght, that cosmic horror was obliterated. The composition was roughly 2 corvette for every frigate, with a good general at the helm it can be a scary force to behold.

Could you throw a video about fleet composition? I don't play ofen but I usually goes for the 2 for 1 ratio (EI 2 corvette for a destroyer, 2 destoyers for a cruiser, etc). but I'll be interested in a better fleet composition. like how many corvette, destroyers cruisers for x types of missions. Thanks.

extremly agree. there is a lack of such content. I'm trying to have some main strikers (cruisers/battleships 5-10), support 3 point def (destroyers 2-6), anti-corvete/fregate strikers (destroyers MM 8-16). something like this. But, i believe there is more efficient compositions.

What I do is just spam Stellaris Equivalent of Battlestars and hope for the best.

I go for a total set for each ships across the board, 12 ships for each class; 12 Corvettes, 12 Destroyers (6 focusing on shields, 6 on armor), 12 Cruisers (6 focusing on shield penetration, 6 on hull damage), so on and so forth. It is not an ideal design but it has worked so far.

i usually make them by their role they would be used. 1. For rapid and fast response, All corvette fleet (with disruptor) will do, best used for wreaking havoc on defenseless enemy area then running away when enemy main fleet come. with all corvette, your fleet movement wouldn't be slowed by other type of ship. 2. For destroying bases, i use mix of battleship with giga cannon, battleship with arc emitter, then cruiser with proton launcher and small rocket, with 24:40:36 mixture composition. 3 Giga Cannon could destroy enemy shield with 1 volley, the rest will aim the armor and hull. Cruiser will screen the battleship from incoming attack. 3. For main fleet, using mix of destroyer with all disruptor, Battleships with arc emitter on carrier mode, then cruiser as main damager with full swarmer rocket. Destroyer will act as corvette destroyer as corvette have really low hull so destroyer with full disruptor will decimate them even in 1:4 fight (unless reactive armor/Crystal plate), they also protecting your other ship from getting swarmed by corvette. The rest is simple, just spamming shield bypassing attack.

Tachyon Lance did a video recently breaking down fleet composition in late game, but generally in vanilla PvE Stellaris the AI isn’t really able to counter huge amounts of Battleships with Arc Emitters / Carrier core / Whirlwind Missiles on the back - the artillery layout Aspec shows in this vid is also extremely strong.

In broad strokes this is a good guide, I'd just add a few details for clarification: 1) There are two reasons why Destroyers typically outclass Corvettes. The first is their better range, having access to M- and L-slot weapons. The second is how your tech tends to improve Evasion less than it improves Tracking, the main counter to high-evasion ships. Evasion is capped at 90% which is only 30 better than what your Corvettes start with. Meanwhile an M-slot weapon might start with 30% tracking, but over time get access to +15 from sensors and another +30 from the right combat computer. Net +15 evasion barely covers the higher damage efficiency of the larger weapon, but that's before you factor in the range advantage and proportionately higher bulk of Destroyers. 2) Cruisers strictly outclass Frigates as torpedo bombers, unless you have the First Contact DLC and can give them Cloaking. Stat-wise a Frigate is a 1/4-size Cruiser with the same base speed and evasion, however a Cruiser can equip more than one Afterburner so it is effectively faster. When using short-range torpedoes, being able to close distance faster is a massive advantage for survivability; as is having four Frigates' worth of bulk concentrated onto one ship. 3) Battleships do exactly 2 things very well: using very large, long-range weapons, and having a high density of hangars. A battleship is twice as big as a Cruiser but has less than twice as many hit points, and takes almost double the damage for every torpedo that hits it. Battleships also can't use the best combat computer for close-range fighting (picket). For these reasons they're best kept at long-range.

Apart from the fact that the spaceships are by far not as appealingly designed as those in Homeworld II / III or Endless Space II, they don't even move "realistically" through space. Not only do they not have any control jets, they also turn "unrealistically" and suddenly. In my humble opinion, this is a mood and immersion killer.

Meh I think the ships look fine, plus moat people don't play Stellaris for visual immersion, and you could always add mods

I like to field my juggernaut on the front, because when it's with ither fleets, it's basically as if you got 2 carrier (even more with the aura) and 2 x slot battleships more. And in case you lose the fight, you can most often retreat before it is in danger of getting destroyed. Also it is very good at kiting enemies, I once had a single juggernaut kiting down a 2.3 million fleetpower unbidden fleet reducing it to 500k, while barely getting scratched and escapping. Keeping it behind your lines is a waste, because at this point in the game you and yoir enemies likely have gateway infrastructure and a mega shipyard

Destroyers can have L and M slot weapons, but Corvettes only have S slots or 1 picket slot instead. So either a close-up fighter or a picket ship, whereas destroyers can stay further back.

A corvette is always just a corvette and doesn't really has many options. Of course it cam take multiple roles depending on the weapons, but it doesn't change much. A destroyer on the other hand can be used as a complete anti missile or fighter platform, as an artillery ship with the L slot, as a corvette destroyer, or even take all the roles of a corvette, as with the right decisions it could be possible to get a destroyer to nearly 90% evasion. So the range of the destroyer is pretty much unmatched

You didnt mention using Corvettes being the best to control fights, stopping ftl to split forces.

Thank you for the video appreciate it now I was wondering again anyone if they can post this idea paradox I don’t know how to make them see this idea, but I have an idea that really could help. The game. First idea is a rework of the frigates frigates are meant to be a Corvette, but slightly lower and speed, but tougher an armor they’re not meant to be slow they’re meant to be a little faster than just sitting ducks because again for a Costco Corvette is not even worth usually purchasing yet, because you lose them so much more than any other ship so that’s the first idea second idea is unity I don’t like how unity is used for leaders upkeep as well. I think that’s stupid. What unity should be used for his empire or your empire sprawl whatever so it’s better control like you have better loyalty or for robotic species, you have a better network system and every time it goes up by the increments of 20 so let’s say you’re empires sprawl a whatever you wanna call it hits 120 well now it’s double the cost originally it was costing you want unity point but now it’s causing you to unities until you hit 140 which day it will double again so it’ll cost you four points of unity to control your empire again I think that would be a better system, and if anyone can suggest is ideas to paradox or no put it somewhere where they can see it I would appreciate it and feel free to use it

Generally Pickets have a lot of point defense to take out missiles and fighters. With little in the way of doing damage to other ships.

A picket is a ship that stays on the edge of the fleet to catch smaller ships and protect larger vessels. They can take the hit if needed, or intercept smaller attackers that the bigger ships can't. They're there to protect bigger, more valuable ships...one way or another. Anti-missile pickets are a bit different though, their goal is to shoot down missiles before they hit larger vessels. They usually place themselves between the target and the attacker, so they have maximum time to shoot down the missile.

It means a sentinel type ship, meant to prevent small ships/missiles/strike crafts to approach the main element of your fleets. They're basically a shield to specialized weapons that deals heavy damage.

is there a guide for building fleets/military? my problem in Stellaris atm is basically I can build a big thriving empire im having tons of fun with and building stuff and engrossed in, only to find when any combat starts at all their forces are overwhelmingly strong! huuuuuuge fleets over 40K in strength or even sometimes 70k! and heres my fleet I was proud of thats only like 3K, but my economy cant afford to make more! this is the max fleet I can have!, also military, land units I mean, my land units die the second they land on enemy planets, I dont know why. but I watch others playing and they have no problem at all so I know the problem is me I just dont know how. I have all DLC btw, so im not limited on tactics at all, if I need a DLC to do a specific trick recommended, I have no problem I can do it

Since we're on the subject of talking about ships, Paradox, can we please have be able to merge all possible ships with eachother by simple pressing G instead of having to micro split every fleet and put them together one by one and just let the game do it for us?

If you mean missiles, it all depends on your enemy. An enemy with 1PD per corvette in your fleet should be able to win with taking nearly no damage, so a fleet of corvettes with missiles and PD should take you out without problems

@@TheEventHorizon909 My favourite is the Ancient Empire or Stellarborn mod shipset, though the latter is a bit too bright flashy, but it fits the theme of the official Ancient Cache of Technology submod. I have no idea if there's any standalone shipset mod for it tho

Whenever I have a fight against an AI. No matter what I add, if it's a corvette, frigates or destroyers. They all die and need replacement (while winning battle). Only battleships stay long enough to get repaired and see the next battle. Why bother then? ¯⁠\⁠_😑_⁠/⁠¯ Edit: Also about a juggernaut. You forgot that it's a headache to have one. 😫 For example: Let's say I want to build two fleets of 20 battleships each totalling to 40 ships (Nothing surprising I suppose?). 🤔 Megashipyard starts building 30 ships then 10 battleships gets built by Juggernaut. What could be done in 368 days (a little over a year) will take 920 days (over two and half years). 🤦‍♂ Why? Where's the logic? I don't understand any of it, but it's clearly stupid. 🤯 Doesn't matter where the Juggernaut stays, in the innermost system of L-Gate, a gateway, a system with the megashipyard in it, all of it gives the same result so I just stopped using it even just to shorten the jump drive cooldown 😒 Things get even funnier when you add corvettes to the mix of a single fleet. For example I once saw when megashipyard starts building like 20 corvettes, a ton of corvettes went for Juggernaut as well. Then at the end of it all Battleships were to be constructed, so about 6 battleships went for Megashipyard, the Juggernaut had to build 6 as well... on top of 10 or so corvettes too... Nice job 🤖👍

1. Destroyers, for Godsake, have torpedoes. Torpedo cruisers are ok, see WW2 and Star Trek. 2. Maneuverability, not speed, is what defines smaller ships in water and space. Huge engines in larger ships make them faster than military smaller ships. See US fast battleships, French and Italians designs. 3. I would change the naval costs from 2x to 3x or even 4x. Wealthy empires only should afford BBs and Titans. Poorer empires should stick to Vettes, DD and a handfull of cruisers. Like, if Stellaris tried to "simulate" anything. 4. The frigate could be in the tech tree as a vette and a half (advanced vette). And a Battlecruiser could be added as a cruiser and a half. That would emulate fallen empires´ ships. A frigate would be smaller and more powerfull than a destroyer and a battlecruiser smaller and most powerfull than a BB.
