🦊 In this GCSE Biology video, we look at an overview of stem cells, explaining that they are undifferentiated cells with the potential to become various cell types. We distinguishe between embryonic stem cells, which are totipotent and can differentiate into any specialised cell, and adult stem cells, which are multipotent and can only differentiate into specific cell types depending on their location in the body. We also lookat plant stem cells known as meristem cells, which, like embryonic stem cells, are totipotent and contribute to plant growth and regeneration.
