Why would the school admin and students call the sheriff office instead of 911? They usually do stuff like that for a drill so the operators know what calls are real and what are drills?

@@noneyun9943 the 911 calls probably route to the sheriffs office first, METCOM only handles fire and EMS and received the transfer from the SO.

@@newswithzachary4277 me to. 11 year's ago on the 19th of May 2008 I was driving and I got hit by a drunk driver splitting my head wide open and broke 6 in my neck and 15 in my back. My cousin was on the heavy rescue that responded to my accident and he was talking to me while they were getting me cut out of the vehicle and because of my head bleeding so bad he couldn't recognize me at all until they got me out and he saw my ID. But it doesn't matter to any first responders who needs help they will always treat you like family and because of that I will always help them with anything they need because I'm beyond grateful for them going over and beyond the call of duty every single time.

Thank you both for posting this, and talking about what happened yesterday. Thank you to all the police, fire, and EMS personnel that responded. It's unfortunate that this happened, especially so close to Columbine High School. Thank you all for what you do. My deepest condolences go out to the victims and their families, and may the one student rest in peace.

Living 5 minutes from the STEM school and working as a construction engineer intern at the UC Health hospital which is where y’all did the active shooter training, I passed that school every day on the way to work and I could have never imagined this happening. I even had a friend who was working as a high school intern on the construction site with me who attends the STEM school and I could never be more grateful for South Metro and Douglas County sheriff for their quick response. Thank you for your amazing work. Y’all saved lives.

As a Chaplain for a small rural fire district I wish that I could pray this all away. I wish that words would take the pain and sorrow from the lowest person at fleet services to the Chief, Sheriff, Fire Chief. Please know that even us from Rural Oregon are here for those that need it. May the light of day, bring you peace and the dark of night bring you rest. I am sorry for what you have had to go through, your report (VLOG) on this shows your dedication, and humanity in this. You are very professional and great to watch. Please take care and know that we are watching from afar and praying for you and your communities recovery in this matter. Thank you for what you do.

As a captain, would you wonder why these kids and teachers didn't call 911 DIRECTLY?? How did they know to call the Police, and what number to dial to get them when 911 is the number seared into their memory to call in case of an emergency???? This is another Phony, fake mass shooting! Like usual, they setup a special "Drill" phone number for them to call so they don't clog 911 lines with their fake event. Just like all of these phony, fake drills turned into a headline grabbing fake mass shooting event, they did drills for the EXACT same scenario that played out that day, COINCIDENTALLY in that same exact area! Just like Sandy Hook, Parkland, Forrest HS, Freeman HS, Aurora, Sutherland Springs, and fill in all of the rest! Not ONE mass shooting has been legit real! I've found at least one person at all of these fake shootings still alive years later, voting, and living in a new area! So, if one death was fabricated, THEY ARE ALL FABRICATED! I hope as a first responder, that you dig deeper into these stories and see how they don't really handle these things the way you would in an emergency!

@@noneyun9943 first sir, im a Chaplain not captain.. next on this one tbey did call 911 directly, as didany of the others. Add in the fact that on at lest two shootings i have lost people i knew. One of them several i knew. Then ill even throw in a caviot that one of my friends had the weapon to her head buy the shooter just before intervention happened. So you cannot yell me that they are all fake. In no way will I believe this particular one was faked, as they used an amazing strategy and forthought for the preplanning of such an event.

Tanner Ellis go Listen to this video again! Go listen to the news! They transferred the calls to 911 “after they knew they had an emergency and they were on the line with dispatch! They admit the calls went to the sheriff and then transferred the call to 911 dispatch!

When the kids that are getting shot multiple times are released from the hospital an HOUR later, then what were they hit with!? A nerf gun? A water pistol? One of the alleged wounded’s dad admitted his son was released an hour afterwards. The kid shot in the leg twice didn’t have a single sign of injury

1:15. The calls INITIATED with The Douglas COUNTY SHERIFF’s OFFICE (so, they went to the sheriff’s office first)! He then states once they knew it was real (not a drill) they transferred the call to 9/11! Go listen to their video and what they described would have only occurred if they were running a drill! In a real event, the school and Students would have called 911 directly

Eric and Connor, my heart went out to you guys when I saw the news. I heard it was in Douglas and from previous VLOG’s I felt I knew right where it was. As a Physician that works in this field heavily, at local and federal level, teaching to Tactical Paramedics, and my self responding to scene with our local SWAT team on calls for service and warrants you must look for the well being of your staff. It’s never enough to say, “let us know if you need anything” it is on us as professionals to make sure that our team members are not slipping into a pattern of substance abuse, or self destructive behavior. It’s good to put the information out there always, it’s equally good to get with your fellow Fire Fighters from the scene debrief heavily, and see who disengages, and follow up with them and their closest friends, to ensure their headspace is in the right place. Coming from a military background and having to help close friends get through points beyond rock bottom, they don’t typically reach out. The benefits to checking on your buddy is keeping your buddy around. Sorry for sounding preachy suicide rates are rising in the Blue and Red fields... that’s why facilities like ‘Warriors Heart’ treats first responders just like career Special Forces Veterans. You guys are just as much warriors as we are, we are in this together...

I wish everyone in the community saw this video so they knew exactly what went into this response and to answer their questions or shoot down their critical views of things they don't understand (ie. why are their so many units standing around, etc.). Then they would see what I saw... that in the 20 years since Columbine, our local emergency agencies studied, planned and practiced WHAT THEY COULD DO BETTER since 1999. We many not be able to prevent the violence, but you guys can - and have - found better ways to respond to them. Thank you.

I hope that next video is a happy one. I am very sad hearing some of the audio, because it happened in Colorado. Prayers go out to the family's of the students who got shot during the stem shooting. Thank you South Metro Fire Rescue for keeping our communities safe,Also Thank you to 911 dispatchers for listening to medical emgerenicies such as school shootings . Prayers go out to the family's also known as the active shooters in this case. Thanks to the Douglas County police department for keeping everybody calm and safe during this call. Thank you healthcare workers for caring gunshot wounded paients and the other trauma team workers who were In the hospital that day. That you Emts for responding so calm while also trying to stay calm yourselves is unbelievable and so awesome to see and as always god bless and keep up the hard work that you guys do. I feel bad because you guys are pretty underrated sometimes all you need is a hug. and sugar to make you feel better when you are at low or a high moment in your career. Prayers go out the family that lost their son in a school shooting in highlands Ranch you guys wake up in middle of the night to go on crazy calls which empowered me to get up this morning at 5:05 AM. to start my day off right. When you are away from your family it messes with your mind and it interrupts your sleep and it can mess with your cardican clock as well. Also when the 9/11 attacks when on in New York City is when I felt bad the people who injured and in critical condition I can only image that ICUS were overwhelmed because of how many people needed to be transported to the hospital and some that lost their lives because they could escape from the twin towers that day. do you guys remember the I-25 tanker fire and if you do know that incident impacted so many people and the tanker driver, and in 2018 on November 8 there was fire in California and the name of the fire that went on down in California it was the most deadliest and destructive wildfire in California's history. There was so much traffic trying to get out of paradise and many other communities that used that road to get from point A to point B or they're houses to the store and many other places. And they had to do some search and rescue. I just wish that nothing like that doesn't happen again or to anyone else. We need to keep schools a safe place where kids and students can learn without being interrupted by a school shooter that was the student's classmates or friends. We need to be nice to those with a disabled medical conditions.Thank you both for posting this, and talking about what happened yesterday. Thank you to all the police, fire, and EMS personnel that responded. It's unfortunate that this happened, especially so close to Columbine High school. Thank you all for what you do.My deepest condolences go out to the victims and their family's., and may the one student rest in peace. You two did a great job with this vlog! Classy, emotionally raw. Blessed are the peace keepers. Amazing job from everyone involved and it shows a true testament to the training and skill of all staff menbers on the departments. You all have prayers and support from all of us here in Wisconsin. Eric and Connor, my heart went out to you guys when I saw the news. I heard it was in Douglas and from previous VLOG's I felt I knew right where it was. As a physician and someone who works in the field heavily , at local and federal level, teaching to Tactical paramedics, and my self responding to science with our local SWAT team on calls for service and warrants you must look for the well being of your staff.

Did you have triage on scene and mutual aid both or just one or the other?

"Triage" is how they decide the order people are going to be treated in and transported so of course they would have been doing that.

I know that, I also know how it’s run depending on the area as each and everyone across the country is different. SMFR and I am pretty sure almost all that runs them have three different color tags. If you read the question which I guess is a bit confusing and also I asked before watching the video I asked did they have both mutual aid AND triage or just ONE or other.
