What can you say? Only the Germans could engineer a system this technologically innovative and complex. Seriously, though, the S10 is an incredible machine. Absolutely the finest motorglider on the planet. My hat is off to Stemme.

Had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Stemme, many years ago at the Paris Airshow. Very nice man and his sailplanes are fantastic.

Whew! I thought helping dad put together his Kestrel 17 was a chore. The stemme is pretty cool though.

Dear Michael Any constructive input is very welcome and we are happy to benefit from your experience. The challenge with this aircraft is the assembly of the very heavy centre wing with a length of about 11m and some more than 200kg. So the electric winches are a necessity, because I don't know anyone who would want to lift such a load, nor would it be legal. Please send a short input. Thank you

Cuh, I get irritated when it takes me 40 minutes to rig my Atos VX. What a machine though... 50:1 and 100hp!!

Dear SimonUsually you fly the Stemme and do not transport it in the trailer. With 2x60l tank you can fly well 1700 km with the engine. In gliding - the record is at 2460 km in one day over the Andes !happy landings Robert

The "warning propellers" sign is so much smaller and harder to see than the propellers, that I wonder if anyone has ever been hit by the propellers trying to read that.
@StemmeFliegen3 жыл бұрын
Dear Tangent, on the checklist to start the engine is a clear check-point "propeller area clear". Following the check list does avoid an accident.

+Chris Chambers Dear Chris, the epmty weight is about 1'250-1'300 kg, the Stemme is about 700 kg, dependent what else you put in the trailer , calculate 2'000-2'200 kg. The trailer is for max. 2'600 kg (detailed information at: www.cobratrailer.com)Kind regards Robert

Flying seems like such a big pain in the ass... Too bad you probably can't try flying one of those things without giong the whole nine yards.

There are in many countries possibilities to fly with a Stemme. Have a look at Stemme-Powergliders.ch or talk to the factory Stemme.com

Bit fiddly putting it together. You certainly wouldn’t want to be up in the air and discover that you had a bolt or a pin in your pocket!
@SpatialGuy77 Жыл бұрын
OMG - That's the most convoluted, trashy way to get your glider out of a trailer I have ever seen. Over 30 years as gliding instructor & that needs a re-design! 🤮 Michael 🇦🇺
