Old video new comment. I am building my first StingyV2. I'm really glad you made this video. I've taken pretty much every tip and incorporated it. I absolutely love this quad. Turning out so nice, with its dual F7, I might be afraid to fly it LOL

Ahh, build video in 2019!?! I love it, something cathartic about watching a pilot you like build a quad. Even though I've probably built 30-40 of my own by now (about 10 of them Stingy v1&v2's), I still enjoy it!

Got this frame on sale for 92bucks! I’ve been waiting for it to be on sale and now the time comes and pulled the trigger! I think I will check my windows more often than Usual lols. Very good looking frame! I hope Its more durable than any other frame on the market!

Big-tipped solder iron would help you a lot with the battery connections. I have an old shitty Weller 70W iron just for this kind of thing, heat it up till you're scared of it, then it takes only 5 seconds to do the joints. :) Great build video, like others write, it's relaxing. And the tip about flinging solder is great, I accidently had that happen on an FC, and i could not figure out why it would not work right for the longest time. Thankfully it was ground and signal, not something powered.

It amazes me how build evolution ends the same place. And different. My build eccentricities have nearly paralleled yours, down to Loctite placement and o-ring use. Pet peeves are camera mounting and adhesives. Differences are notable too, maybe because of where we fly. For example, you seem to have the "city" answer in the gaffers tape. I fly "county" (farms & parks) I've been thru a bunch of systems until self vulcanizing splicing tape covered with electrical tape because of it's water, grit and prop resistance. No feet on mine because I fly from grass or dirt (carry a pop-up heli-pad for tall grass and dusty conditions - launch off my pack and drop-land when lazy). I use different colored E-tape cut into flaps with the far edge doubled over as "doors" to binding buttons and SD card retention. A drop of E6000 secures UFL connectors securely, but is removable with long moderate pressure. Great video, learned a lot!

That's awesome. Yeah I tried the self vulcanizing tape for a while but found it to hard to work with when doing repairs.

I was woundering after this build video. If your going to make a new betaflight 4.1 pid,filter tuning video with pid settings. Love your videos brother. Got same frame,after many other frame testing this has been the one for me. Thank u for what u do for our hobby👍

Agreed. I’ve got a bunch of that tape that Emax sold a while back. It’s basicly gaffers tape but only like 1/4 wide. It’s just right to secure wires down. Love that stuff.

Nice build video. Thanks. I built the carbon fiber version with KISS and the Wolf PDB a couple of months ago and just got the forged carbon frame in the mail recently. Guess it's time to buy some electronics. =P By the way, I fly the Hypetrain Stingy motors with 6S and haven't melted any of them so far. Have you, or anyone else, ever had problems doing that? Because officially they are advertised as 5S motors.

I really hope V3 comes with a thick front brace like all Drib Frames. Broke my new v2 Forged (front area bottom plate) during its 1st lipo LOL.

Kevin, I'm not a 100% sure but I think even if you always have the wires all straight to the same pads depending on how the motor is wound it could still be turning the wrong direction. Pretty sure I had to change it in the ESC once after swapping a motor, even with all wires going straight to the ESC.

Not impossible. But the motor would have to have a different number of windings making it a different kv. All motors of the same make, manufacturer, and production run should be the same.

Nice video Kevin. I was waiting for something like that. You've been talking about that now you prefer to solder SA directly to the FC instead through the Nano Crossfire. So, have you changed it on your other quads? And why this change now? Because we were talking about this on other videos and you're prefered the other way, SA hooked up to the crossfire. Thanks Kevin

Awesome! Are most motors' durability the same? I have Emax Eco(cheap but flies well) and I crashed from 15ft. Quad wasn't even fast. I broke one of the motors. Which motor would you recommend for durability?

I wouldn't say they are the same but it can be hard to guess just how durable a motor will be by looking at it. You have to fly it and crash it a lot.

Hi Kevin, thank you for your tremendous input to fpv. I just finished the same build while watching this vid; the only difference is I used v1 frame and motors are from T-Motor. Are you planning to make a tune video? I am looking for some PIDs tips

Great video, however. You forgot to remove the red and white wires from the harness going to the Radix. It's recommended to do so. On both Hobbywing 40a and 60a esc's.

Nope. That is the hobbywing 45 amp that has a 10v power supply. The 60A doesn’t.

The RADIX FC stacks on top of the 4-in-1 ESC and can be connected to it using the long cable included with the 4-in-1 ESC. Before connecting them, make sure to remove the red 10V wire and the black GND wire on the flight controller side. Leaving them connected will damage the RADIX FC! You can use the 10V/GND wire from the ESC to power a HV video transmitter or a camera. Note: The 60A version of the 4-in-1 ESC no longer has the 10V output. You still need to disconnect the red and black wires on the flight controller side, but you can no longer use them to power your video transmitter. Instead, power the video transmitter directly from the battery pads. that's the part i don't understand, help ??

MaxCastrillo you can literally solder the power leads for the vtx directly onto the battery connectors on the esc. Assuming you are using all the same equipment as shown in this video.

Jason Hull because rotor riot screwed me over and I told them to stop making those motors. New stingy motors coming soon from TBS.

StingersSwarm oh snap. Right on. Thanks for the reply man. Anything from TBS will be better anyways. I stopped following RR and all the rest on all the platforms after Steele started Ethix. I just agreed with him more on the issues. I never was a huge fan of one certain guy who more less took over operations. Glad to hear you are still offering a motor my dude. I’d love to get in touch with Trappy about a few products I’d like to get to the market. Think I’m going to bounce them off Steele first. I trust him.
