I’m so confused, I tried to get the JR Pass for month from the official site and if always said that you can purchase it only one month before the start date. And that I can only reserve seats online if I get the ticket from the official site. The one with the .net ending. So on which Websites could I have purchased it sooner AND still make online reservations via the website?

Hi, I'm also confused about exactly what you are asking me..... It depends on the date you are traveling to Japan and the effective date of JR Pass. As I mentioned in my video, this is created for those who are going to buy a ticket at a new rule.

Hi Meg, your video is very informative, thank you . If i may ask you 2 questions? My husband & i are planning to stay in Tomamu for a few days early Feb next year. Do you know if the Noboribetsu JR pass can be used from Sapporo station to Tomamu station? another question is, if i make a reservation at the JR office when i arrive in Japan eg: on the 1st of Feb 2024 but the reservation is for 3rd of Feb, would the activation start on the day i make the booking or does it start on the 3rd of Feb? Thank you so much again.

1. Yes, you can use JR Pass from Sapporo to Tomamu. I think you should download the app called Navitime Japan. Please check my previous video on how to use it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g-CVfcpp07OmoXU.htmlfeature=shared

2. It should be the date you designated at the counter in Japan. The start date of the Japan Rail Pass can be specified at the time of exchanging the voucher for the Japan Rail Pass. It must be used within 30 days.

@MegLog_JAPAN Just to confirm that Sapporo Noboribetsu JR pass ( not the Hokkaido JR pass ) covers Tomamu station? Sorry Meg, i'm trying to save a bit by buying the Noboribetsu JR instead of the Hokkaido JR pass 🙂 & i will definitely download the Navitime Japan for sure, thank you.
