Excellent video, tips and footage of it's assembly. Im not sure that some OM's can do that with shakey hands or poor eyesight. I like the modularity of their options, but maybe a bit pricey imho.🤔

informative and well produced video. The Hardrock 100w version of this amp is selling for 25 USD more, so might be a better buy.

I think the 100w version you speak of is the HR50+ upgrade kit. You'd have to start with the 50w version, and THEN add the cost of the upgrade. The kit looks nice: adds some neat features, doubles the power, and weighs 4oz LESS, but spendy, and requires a 50v 5a power supply, which would make it not quite so handy for field use. In any case the difference in signal strength for those receiving you would be about 3 dB. The 50w version was surprisingly fun and straightforward to build, and has been slaying it on SSB and digital all afternoon. It needs around 7a at 13v to make 55w out, so is pretty easy to power for field, portable, or even SOTA ops. 73 es GL de N1WMR

I am new to all this and am really really trying to understand. Would the new 50+ be fine with the HL2?

Thank you for the nice inspiration around the Hardrock Amplifier. How is the Hermes Lite II receiver compared to the SDR Play products? I know it is a little off topic, but please let me know about your experience. Vy 73 de OZ2BKK

Hi! I have never done a comparison between the HL2 and an RSP in terms of receive. I know that when I was using an RSPdx as a panadapter for a FT101MP the RSP heard everything the MP could hear.

Hi Matt Thank you very much for the information and inspiration! It is still difficult to make the choice, but I need to 🙂 Vy 73 de OZ2BKK / Bjarke
