Great video and tutorial (love your artwork)! Just a little tip from one artist to another: you can save a step by doing FILE > Export > "Quick Export as PNG" which will default to the PNG format without having to select from the drop down menu :).

Tape the top of the sheet to the table once you apply the tip of the laminate. hold the flap of the backing and pull gently as you press & slide the ruler down to apply the laminate.

i want to start a digital sticker business and its good to see that there are people out there that uses other pictures as references. now i wont feel weird using other pictures as references when creating

My only suggestion is to use your own photos. Nothing wrong with using them, but just keep in mind the photos people get online are copy written materials. So if you want to outline it like in the video i really recommend just using your own photos. Especially if you're making your own business the last thing you want is your artwork being traceable to copy written material. Just my advice though!

Hi when you create a new document, do you use a shortcut that allows you to create a document fitting the exact dimensions of the new sticker, or do you just wing it? because i noticed that whenever you pasted it into a new document it always seemed to be the right size for the new sticker

I heard a lot of ppl getting the silhouette because of cricut calibration issues. I think the silhouette portrait is on amazon right now for $157 which is a pretty good deal.

@@jellyjarco If you could choose only one sticker paper for your stickers which one would you choose? With all of the things i still need to buy to start a sticker shop I realized that I can't buy 3 different types of paper >_< would it be a good idea to just get the OL weatherproof matte inkjet paper and laminate it to make it glossy? My wallet is hurting lmao

That’s gonna cost you more tho. The regular glossy one is cheaper than the weatherproof matte. I would say if you’re just starting out, just do the weatherproof matte and don’t laminate it. The matte one does pretty well without a laminate, it just won’t have that glossy look. Have you tried requesting samples yet?

@@jellyjarco I requested samples from SL and OL but haven't received OL yet. The only thing about the regular glossy is that its not weatherproof so I thought I would have to laminate it to keep the ink from being washed off

You do need a laminate with the regular glossy. But you don’t necessarily need one with the matte weatherproof one

Wait.. so you’re telling me this whole time I’ve been manually drawing my sticker outlines.. all I had to do was double click and set it to add a border? 🤦♀️ I need serious help. How do you do it specifically on photoshop 2020?

I believe you're asking about adding a stroke? It'll be under the layer fx menu option under the layer list. Select the layer you want to add a stroke first... select the options you're wanting (color, thickness, how it's centered (inside/ outside). Hope that helps.

Hello! This video is super simple and helpful thanks! I have a quick question: Do you use inkjet or lazer printer ink? I heard that inkjet stickers cannot be waterproof

I have inkjet so I think that means the ink isn’t waterproof. But the ink holds up well under water with waterproof paper. It just tends to smear more easily with darker colors on glossy paper.

Hi, how did your cricut machine read the sensor marks on the glossy paper ? I have to put matte tape on the black lines for it to read it and even then the cuts aren’t perfect. I have the explore air 2

After first watching this video, I bought this set of stickers and they are so lovely. I have a question. I'm new to making stickers and was wondering if you still use Oracal 651? I am having a LOT of issues getting it to lay down without bubbles. I like that it is not overly thick - but have wasted a number of stickers. :-( Maybe that is normal - but trying to cut down on waste as much as possible. I have used the Scotch brand self-adhesive sheets but they are pretty expensive compared to the Oracal. I haven't tried using thermal yet.

Thank you for ordering! Glad you like the stickers! Yup I still use the Oracal 651. Take a look at one of my more recent video (the one that says cold lamination). It shows how I apply the laminate without bubbles. Hope that helps!

question, when I print using the same sticker paper, my art comes out perfect. When I use the Cricut design space software, my print comes out super dark. Anyone have this problem or know a fix? ty

I just got this printer and I am trying to use Cricut printable vinyl and it keeps jamming. Do you put it in face down? I just got it and am scared to use it

Cricut sticker paper just likes to curl up a lot and jams easy. Try using some other sticker paper like from Amazon

So nice. Do you like your printer? It looks like it prints so well. I have a canon ts6320 and its okay but I feel like the colors aren’t that accurate when I print my stickers. Looking to upgrade ASAP.

Ya I like my printer. Sometimes the colors come out differently when you print because it prints in CMYK instead of RGB so it’s usually a little duller

Put matte scotch tape over the black recognition lines and it should work :)

How waterproof are these stickers? :0 I'm planning on laminating my OL White Gloss stickers from now on, and I'm wondering if this makes them 100% waterproof, as I'm debating sticking w/ the OL white gloss vs. switching to the OL Weatherproof Matte

They’re not waterproof and will deteriorate in the dishwasher. They’re more water resistant. I ran them through the faucet and water seeps in through the sides but the surface is intact. When it dries, it’s back to normal. I have a water test photo on my Etsy listings

Yes that’ll work! I’ve tested the weatherproof matte under the faucet and it doesn’t change at all!

Why does the interface look so much like a computer program? Especially when compared to the Procreate app on my iPad, which doesn’t offer a full pop up window when I double click a layer. I just get a short list of options to choose from like “rename, copy, fill layer” etc. What am I doing wrong? Are you actually using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator? Description says Procreate.

It’s just the default size they offer. It says “screen size” I think.

Hi! Sorry-back with another question. I tried this out and did everything that you did (including not putting the vinyl over the black cut lines), but it still cut off center. My machine is calibrated. Have you ever had this issue?

I’ve heard cricut is having really bad calibration issues lately :( So it’s affecting a lot of people.

You can put matte transparent scotch tape over the lines and it’ll read them

No you can use it. That’s the usual blade. It’s what I use.

You would need some type of illustrating software. There are some cheaper alternatives like clipart studio but not sure what’s out there for mac since I have a pc

I sometimes just draw a white border on a layer below my artwork on procreate (if I don't want to move it into photoshop) and then you can export as a png!

How do you get your Cricut to read the glossy paper? Because the reflection, it always says it cant read the lines and wont cut. I tried to method of using matte tape but that didn't help me either 😭

Usually the scotch matte tape works very well. That’s what I do. I don’t know how else to help sorry!

I’m using a non waterproof glossy paper with a waterproof laminate on top so it only makes it water resistant. If you run it under water for a minute, the edges will soak through a little but it will go back to looking normal once it dries.

You would have to use the glossy waterproof sticker paper and then use the “sticky notes” material for kiss cut in the cricut

JellyJarCo yeah, it’s not like the images come out blurry but it looks like chalk in a way. I don’t know why. I wanted it to be bright but it comes out dull and splotchy very tiny though for the splotchy

@@simplybyjess5963 Also, this may be a stupid question, but are you sure you're printing on the correct side of the paper? Sometimes if you get a REALLY terrible print it means that you're on the wrong side. I had this happen and it made an inky mess all over.

Hello how are you new follower here love your video I’m new to procreate and can’t figure out how you brought in the picture to draw over it and then remove it. I thought it could be the reference feature but I tried no luck please help.

You go to settings/actions (the wrench symbol on the top) > add > insert a photo. And then create a new layer on top to draw over it
