Step Inside A Food Blogger's Bright & Airy Home

Күн бұрынOlivia Ribas de Farias, the blogger behind Primavera Kitchen, reached out to Orsi Panos to help transform her Toronto home. Since she regularly photographs food in the kitchen, it was important to have a light-filled space with matte surfaces. The white and wood kitchen is accented with beautiful textures like a leathered marble countertop, fluted end gables on the island and mixed metals throughout. An armoire-like cabinet with bi-fold doors offers ample storage for kitchenware, a pottery collection and small appliances. In the open-concept dining room, sculptural chairs complement the pedestal table, and the comfortable living room has coastal finishes such as rattan, wicker and white oak.

I like what she said about the marble. Honestly, it's the best philosophy to have if you're going to use marble in the kitchen. There is no way to avoid scratches completely.

I understand what you’re saying but mine has this horrible dark stain that’s extremely unsightly. This is in a bathroom that’s only for guests and hardly used. I’ve tried everything out there. Any suggestions?

The vignette at 0:40, and again at 4:48, just blew me away!! I kept going back and studying it. I’m not usually that much of a fan of a white kitchen, but this one really is appealing to me. The white oak island with the fluted detail is stunning, especially with the switch to the flat black pulls. I love it all!

I love the open light airy feeling of the whole space. The warm wood and white is perfect. It appears comfortable and unpretentious.

The taste level and production values of this home redesign are high without being overly ostentatious or unapproachable. I love the round dining table ... I cannot give mine up so I totally understand, and whoever thought fluted wood in the kitchen would (finally!) become a thing ... it's done right here, as an accent away from direct moisture, grease and heat. Great collaboration.

I think she got what she needed as a food blogger, she has a lot more gear than the average person and has max storage. I really like the choices she made, she knows she’ll have juice or wine stains eventually on her marble counters. I’m jealous of the beautiful window light. Love the furnishings, the white oak and her art wall. Well done.

For the bathroom, which is one of my fav rooms in this home, I love how she said that the owner was so daring- "not everyone is willing to do marble in the bathroom"- the reality is not everyone can afford to do marble there or anywhere- ha.

The whole home is so beautiful & nicely appointed. My favs are the bedroom and bathroom. In the kitchen, I love that they went with a wood island instead of all marble- adds warmth and personality- but I think they dropped creativity with white cabinets. Wish they had gone with at least cream or light grey. White is not the only "classic" color.

Oh great... more white on white on white. Yawn. Looks like the only thing missing is the impractical white couch and a few "punch-of-color" throw pillows. Oh wait... there it is, right on cue.

Meh, honestly nothing new or exciting about the design decisions... white cabinets, white subway tiles, light wood tones, and matte black/ bronze finishes.... pretty basic
