Good morning, Tim, another video where I state," where were you when I bought my hobby farm". I now know what the spiky bit is for on the Parrot pliers. It's for staple removal. You would really be surprised how many small snakes and very large spiders who have died with the application of the pointy part of those pliers. Brilliant advice, thanks again for great content. Not afraid to admit I owned a pair of parrot beak pliers for months before I realized it was designed perfectly for taking out staples! 😂

For removing star pickets, I'd suggest instead a Richmond star picket lifter with a shackle and a couple of feet of chain. Use that to grab the post, and supply lift either with a high lift / farm/wallaby style jack, or your tractor bucket if you have access. The farm jack or the tractor have many other uses besides post extraction.

Another great video mate. Can I ask, do I need a 1200 mesh strainer board if Im only ever going to use 900 mesh?

You’ll find that most are that size. I tried a smaller set once that were made for a popular Indian owned brand of wire and they were just a few mm too small for the mesh I was using. Huge frustration. I recommend getting a set just a bit bigger than you think you would need

Tim! Astonished to see you whacking the 'parrot' beak, over here - Wales - we would use the middle 'biting' nip-bit and then roll it out using the back of the curve as you did. We never whack the pliers like that, if the staple is in deep and hard to get at, we use the point as a pick to make room for the nip-bit to bite.
