We’re Steph and Pete and we were selected to "live anywhere" on Airbnb for a year, calling a new destination home for a month at a time.
In this vlog, we share our favorite restaurants and foods in Athens that we enjoyed the most after spending a month there in October 2021. We loved gyro, souvlaki, kontosouvli, lamb chops, feta-packed greek salads, and more.

A kid that devours yogurt like my nephew is undoubtly going to be a happy adult. Old people used to say that milk and yogurt make the childs grow up.

Actually here in Greece, we almost cook all of our food with olive oil. We use butter just for sweats. So we buy olive oil in big quantities from the producers. Great video. Usually, when someone comes to Greece for a week, when he returns home, weights about 3 kilos more!!!

Do it really worth it.....and the prices are very cheap sometimes it feels like a highway robbery.......Best food is in Athens lots of variety..go where the locals eat ........Stay away from Mykonos and Santorini overhyped......

I've followed y'all since early on, and while researching our trip to Greece, this one came up. It was interesting comparing Hays now to where he was then. He's grown up so much in front of us all.

Thank you guys...BOY FLASHBACK ..before I got married and moved away, I was usually in some cafes in KOUKAKI>>Actually it was in KOUKAKI that my mum and dad met...!!!!! I wish you come again and be sure,you will enjoy yourselves just as much !!!!

08:46 - That is a 'gyros' made with 'souvlaki' meat (pork, lamp, chicken) and not the meat scraped from the rotating spit (at 08:26) - Kontosouvli is something else all together, more like grilled lamp or pork cooked like a souvlaki, hence the name !

I just came across your video guys and although its almost a year old, I can confirm that Feyrouz is still the bomb! Whenever I am down town, it's always the first place that comes to mind along with Etnico, if I'm hungry and I am in for a quick snack. To Steki tou Ilia is also quite good if you're craving for chops

Great video unpretentious and genuine! The number one star of the video is your son!!!! He is a natural. Lotsa of stores where I used to drink beer served in that small glass which I agree with you it keeps it cool but in summer when its hot you are gonna gulp down half a bottle of ice cold beer in one goe. Who is gonna wait for the small glass to be filled again!!!!!

Ask Greek old people where is the best place to sample Greek food, they know better than you. In Greece, only few places do keep to authentic & traditional Greek food.

Why on earth do I hear a bouzouki theme everytime a non-Greek makes a video about something Greek! For heaven's sake! Enough is enough. Bouzouki is such a small fragment of our culture!

Pls continue using bouzouki for your Greek videos. Excuse the friend above. He has no idea what bouzouki represents for greek music. Bouzouki and Rebetico is acknowledged by Unesco as worlds intangible heritage. And yes food music and dance is a large fragment of our culture. Enough is enough

Feyrouz is not Greek food it's Syrian. Feyrouz is quite expensive for their quality and the staff is really rude.

@@StephandPete No worries ...Im just kinda shocked and somewhat annoyed that joints like Feyrouz are now the foodie's destination. That's exacltly what made the personnel to behave as if they worked at Tiffany' s NY to put it in a very polite way. The irony is that a few hundred meters from this joint you can find authetric and absolutely stunnig food from emigrants from the Middle East.

We spent almost two weeks on islands (Folegandros, Milos, Sifnos) and ate all of the fish there.

@@StephandPete thank God you didn't go to Mykonos your sponsor would've have dropped you.😂✌ The Pastichio the Musaka? The real Saganaki? Seams to me all the places you've been too are touristy, the platia is a nice place but their is many more very nice places to eat in Athens,. On the Islands and in Northern Greece it's good to meet up with a local and ask them where to go for the best food. I live near Rhodes and I wouldn't eat anywhere in the old Town unless I had too, ( out of the way places especially near the sea have the best food) and out of the way family owned little restaurants in the old city in Rhodes have very good food also.😉✌
