We’re in the Philippines! This is our 16th country of the trip and a new country for all of us. To start, we spent a week in Manila catching up on some things so that we could spend the rest of our time exploring our islands. If you stay til the start of September you'll get to experience the start of Christmas season here, the season starts on BER months which is from September to December 🙂 The restrictions lowered, but still careful because of the new covid variants and we got news of the first case of monkeypox who is now quarantined. The Philippines used to be a US territory after they took over rule from Spain. That's why English is so widely spoken and you get a lot of American chains there. Sarsa was a good pick for food. The owner is a famous Filipino chef, JP Anglo, who also has a restaurant in Dubai.

Great first (in our country) vlog guys! Thank you for coming. Lots of activities in one day. Love Hays! Will definitely want to see your experiences in our country. I know your first week is your catch-up time but while in the Philippines, you can release more videos bec Filipino viewers/subscribers will aprreciate it. Even your date at the salon we actually watch haha. Your content here alone easily would have made 3-4 vlogs. But I know you have an international audience and you adhere to a certain standard. It's just a suggestion anyway. Take care! It's the rainy season so the islands might not be as good to travel to as when it's summer but at least it's not AS humid.

Guys should check out Zambales at some point of your journey. Mount Pinatubo Volcano changed alot of the Lanscape there. Lots of hiking and camping grounds and Mapanuepe Lake (New Zealand vibe)

I recommend the mall Philippines in BGC the Venice canal mall it has a canal like in italy, the SM mall of Asia which is one of the largest malls in the world, also if u want to tour the island go to Boracay it is the most popular beach here and the number 1 leisure beach in the world according to a magazine

Enjoy! The place you're at obviously is not what the Philippines is known as, modern, at least some cities because the provinces won't ever look western being islands. Some western vloggers purposely show poverty, definitely a choice but the point is, even with so modern parts, the Philippines though continually developing is generally known already as a poor country anyway. This shows when all western vloggers say they didn't expect the modernity they see. It's normal.

@@mannyy266 yer agreed, i think most of us westerners are always shocked to see places like BGC, sad thing is BGC is actuallly privately owned by the Spaniards but still pretty cool that you have an area that is not extreme poverty.What vloggers dont like to show is IMMEDIATELY outside of the walls of BGC eg go 2-3 FEET and its slums..... ofc vloggers dont show that though.

@@krisb-travel It's good and NOT SAD AT ALL, that BGC is privately owned by a FILIPINO family of Spanish descent. Their grandparents' grandparents were our Spaniard colonizers and enriched themselves here. Back in the old Philippines, colonizers can own the land as far as they can see. We just so happened to be predominantly descendants of Malays from Malaysia, Indonesia and Borneo and the original Filipinos who are blacks maybe from Africa, live up north of the country. You insistently suggested in other vlogs, that the Philippines is not part of the very modern BGC and called shithole, the slum next to it, you're right though. But those poor people are much happier and have genuine smiles compared to some, if not many in the west who easily gets depressed for not so tight family relations and many other trivial reasons and your rich or even super rich people, few of them are unbelievably unhappy. It doesn't happen here. Nothing is permanent, as we both know we never expected America to have some unsightly and seem like unsolvable streets like those in Philadelphia alone, and kids killing kids and attack of some Asians, political upheaval, heavy debt from China, etc. You do not look down on the poor because its obviously clear that where you come from have even much deeper poverty. The Philippines did not stop the many construction activities during the pandemic. It has just finished another international Airport. A much bigger one is in the works. Elevated roads have been built and more. But it will take so many years to eliminate the slums. At least some have been eliminated already.

Immerse is fantastic when you drop in metro manila, getting to know feeling and trying to tell , get into island hopping Vsayas region is the best spot for an atmosphere change, unwind and the beach life of snorkeling , scuba diving , water activities, this is where you start your trip, enjoy

When traveling with a stroller on the subway in Seoul, you can use the elevator, not the escalator. 94% of subway stations in Seoul have elevators connected from the entrance to the platform until recently. However, when transferring between subway stations, I am not sure if it is easy to access the elevator.

Ah, that's true, but tbh, sometimes they're so far out of the way that we really prefer just going down the escalator. We've become pros with the stroller now, but did occasionally get scolded. :)
