Susan Flannarry should have been a big screen actress. She was so brilliant as an actor. She had the ability to make us believe her on screen no matter what when or how the script called for it. She aged gracefully and boldly before our eyes.

So TRUE! She brought such classiness, grace and elegance to this character AND to the show itself!

The proposal was so touching.......Stephanie was like gold. Eric didn't deserve her love, beauty and loyalty. However, I believe that she was the one he really loved - he always returned to her. And she was so bad-ass, beautiful and strong!

Susan Flannery is such a brilliant actress. She made it all seem so real. You really feel Stephanie's pain, he really hurt her this time. Words are cheap Eric. He always had the words. Still doesnt matter what, I do believe these two loved each other and I did always love when he saw the error of his ways and came crawling back. Eric should have sought treatment, he had some kind of problem, always going from one young woman to the next. Most of Stephanies manipulations came from the fact that she was insecure and needed him to focus on her and give her some love and tenderness. Susan and John portrayed these characters so well but now with no Stephanie the show has died I feel. No where near the same quality of acting or writing anymore.

Detested way eric always treated her. Stephanie should have had lovers also. Hated she was always single except when Eric was with her

I can watch this over and over through the years and still be completely mesmerised by Susan Flannery. My God she is such a naturally gifted actress. Every emotion feels so real. She is utterly brilliant. What a loss when she left the show. Still how very lucky they were to have her talents for 25 years. She really is remarkable in her portrayal of the very complex character of Stephanie, she takes my breath away with all of her performances. 🌹

She always packs the emotional wallop & evokes the audience to feel exactly what her character feels - whether it be anger, sorrow, jealousy, despair, humor, happiness etc. Susan Flannery deserved a lot more success, recognition and accolades than she received.

I hate watching Stephanies heart being broken again here. If only he had been true to her. Stephanie had her faults but most of her manipulations came from a deep insecurity that he would go off to some younger woman. Eric Marrying Brooke was the first heartbreak but I think this one was even more devastating. I never liked the character of Lauren. Even years ago on Y & R she was always after someone elses man. I found this so sad but I have to admit I loved that kiss at the Cafe. We really do get caught up in these soaps dont we but these early episodes were really wonderfully written and beautifully acted especially by my favourite Susan Flannery. A remarkable actress 🌹

It's funny because Brooke has always been called derogatory names because of her love life yet Eric bed hopped as much if not more and that was okay.

Lauren and Stephanie were best friends, but how was it possible that Lauren had feelings with Stephanie's husband? It really makes me feel sick to watch how Lauren join her battle to Stephanie, just like her enemy Sheila of having affair with Eric. I really wish that Stephanie should work it out and give Eric a chance and remarry, but when they're getting older, Eric may become a brat with his whole family to lie and deny and move on with so many flings he's with - lying, cheating, scheming and manipulating. It was one thing that happened with Lauren, but many times with Brooke and Sheila...even Donna Hoe-gan. This is just really hard to hear and watch.

Eric needs Stephanie because all the other little girls he married are just that. He has 5 children with Stephanie & 2 with Brookeypoo. Eric & Brookeypoo were never good parents they left that up to Stephanie who might as will be a single mother & grandmother.Eric told Stephanie he would never hurt her but that's all he ever did.

I began watching this show in French, in Mauritius, since the 1988 season which I got to see three years after it was broadcast in the US. After moving to Great Britain in the mid-90s, I was fortunate to be able to continue watching B&B in English for years, until Channel 5 decided to drop it. I consider the first 12-15 years to be the best era by far of this soap opera, although it still remained tolerably watchable for another 5 or 6 years afterwards. The past decade, however, has seen The Bold and the Beautiful literally go to the dogs. The rare few times I do tune in now, there's nothing I am able to relate to: the old background score, which I always considered to be one of B&B's strongest points, is entirely gone, the pillars that were Ronn Moss and Susan Flannery are nowhere to be seen, the storyline is so bland I often wonder if it's the same show that so gripped my attention 25 years ago! B&B should've been terminated in the late noughties, according to me. Those of us who got to see these old episodes as they were being churned out, and who still look back upon them with fondness, would've been spared the torture the soap has mutated into.

Great actresses such as Charita Bauer, Beverlee McKinsey, Victoria Windham, Linda Dano, Kim Zimmer, Maeve Kincaid, Eileen Fulton, Helen Wagner, Kathryn Hays, Colleen Zenk Pinter, Frances Reid, Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser, Susan Flannery, Darlene Conley, etc are so missed!!! B&B has been so much better lately but it still doesn't reach the heights when Susan and Darlene were onscreen.
