I think with the Stephanie Vaquer situation if she wanted to do business with CML WWE would have let her. When Karl Anderson returned to WWE in 2022 he asked Triple H to let him finish his commitments with NJPW & he agreed to let him do it. If Vaquer wanted to finish her dates with CML realistically speaking WWE would of let her

Yep, and I don't think WWE are really that interested in helping CMLL or new Japan, considering the forbidden door. I don't think it's a coincidence that WWE are playing nice with selective companies such as Noah and Marigold. I would not be surprised to see WWE starting a relationship with AAA. It's like you've got the companies that work nicely with AEW, and you've got the companies that work nice with WWE. So I'm not shocked that WWE were quite happy to screw over CMLL and new Japan.

Not related to this video, but I was listening to Luke review an AEW show where he said Jericho is always in one of the top three rated segments, but I just saw the ratings for Dynamite on July 10th and the segment with Jericho and Joe was the LOWEST segment on the show. When it started, Dymanite was at 672K, when it ended, Dynamite was at 632K.

seems a bit silly for cmll to release someone from their contract then expect them to honour the contract, why not agree to terminate the contract after they finish their dates/honour their agreements. obviously the way Vaquer handled the situation wasn't nice, but I don't know why cmll would open themselves up to this risk seemingly unnecessarily.

If Vaquer wasn't under contract with CMLL, or perhaps had sort of an open deal as some sort of clause in an agreement with CMLL that allows her to sign anywhere she wants and leave CMLL, then I can't really say she did something wrong. It's just people might have this perception of her being unprofessional coming from this. If they wanted it in legally binding writing that she'd fulfill remaining bookings with them, then they should have had an agreement already in place before she went off and signed with WWE. You live you learn.

CMLL was fine with them signing contracts with the Big Companies, Stephanie herself probably decided to end the dates, so she can focus fully on her WWE. CMLL and NJPW are angry it is not AEW cause with AEW she would still of been able to show up to all three, where as with WWE they are just starting to reach out

WWE shows from flag ship to 3rd rated, RAW, SMACKDOWN and NXT. AEW's shows from flag ship to 3rd rated show, DYNOMITE, COLLISION and RAMPAGE. Why not put slag ships shows' rating versus flagship show, 2nd show versus 2nd show and 3rd rate versus 3rd rate? Thats RAW versus Dynomite, Smackdown versus Collision and NXT versus Rampage? Compair thier ratings and the almost empty shows of AEW make sense.

Because 1) they used to air at the same time, and 2) AEW probably has more audience overlap with NXT than with Raw or SmackDown. Besides, everyone knows AEW isn't nearly as popular as WWE overall.

I don't know how long Vaquer has been wrestling - is there any chance she just wasn't acquainted with the tradition of closing out one's business? And in honesty, I'm rather surprised this new WWE might not have let her do the matches even after being signed. I can think of two scenarios, either she was so excited to be signed to WWE that she just sort of forgot everything else, or potentially some actual desire to get away from these companies as fast as possible.

It was more than likely a desire to get far away from CMLL and AEW as possible. CMLL apparently is very supportive of her ex-boyfriend who's now is prison for extremely violent abuse towards Stephanie. Rush and Dralistico are also supportive of him over in AEW.

6:25 That would certainly be an interesting negotiation strategy for Lynch, assuming she does want to stay with WWE. That'd certainly send a very clear message that she's willing to look at other offers if WWE doesn't give her a good one. Might be worth doing partly for the chance to fight an old mate, and partly for the benefit of future negotiations. Yeah, probably won't happen... But what if? 🤔

God I wish the tribal bs would stay only on Twitter and see that other people on this platform and others were more open to both brands. I watch AEW exclusively doesn't mean I hate WWE I just needed a break and wanted to watch something fresh and see how AEW grows. Not everything has to be perfect or smart, sometimes the silly stuff is fine and shouldn't be given so much heat. It isn't like their hasn't been dumb humor or not someone's cup of tea on either show. I've also seen some of the similar issues on both shows when it comes to the matches. I'm big enough to over look it and not point it out as the reason that one program is better than the other. End of rant.

How is ANY of this heat on WWE? As Luke stated SV had the option to work her advertised dates THEN start with WWE. SHE chose not to take that option. So while they may be upset with her, which I understand, how is WWE at fault in any of this? They just went along with the terms SHE set. Someone help me make sense of this....

Luke has been showing a real bias lately towards AEW. Maybe I just missed it over the past 2 years but like I said lately it's been pretty blatant by him. As far as SV goes, I blame CMLL for their open contracts and Rush for his comments about SV (which is whybhe wasn't at FD) also WWE are doing live events in Mexico this weekend and plan to debut her/make an appearance (pretty much like Punk did at SS) so since she's under contract with WWE and they're planning to use her the same day as the CMLL date I agree where it's not WWE fault. It's literally just a perfect storm of timing.

@@anthonyolivares6935 nah, it's because WWE contracts are exclusive, and disallow being on the Indies, whereas most other major promotions let you finish up your advertised matches before going exclusive

Is it a messy situation? Yea. Is it a bad look for Stephanie? I dont think so. Why would tou grant a talent their release and then ask them to finish up? Surely that should be the other way round. "Hey I'm thrilled you got the opportunity, tell them your good to go next week." It wasnt like it was a secret she dreamed of being in WWE since she was a kid, of course she's going.

William Regal's job for years was essentially to watch for anybody he felt would fit in the NXT system. He essentially raided the entire ROH main event scene.
