Sharing both her craft and her love, blessing the luthier with her expression of his work, blessing the composer with her arrangement, blessing us with her precious gift, asking nothing in return for the tens of thousands of hours practising and pain and faith that carpeted the long path bringing her here. So, here Stephanie shows both a sort of elfin wit in the allegrettos & prestos, yet also an almost dreamy quality in adagio/lento variations - neither approach do I remember in anyone else's playing of this famous piece. She is a very original artist, without forced novelty. Fortunate for us that she seems to have arranged a pretty decent audio recording setup for her around-the-house or around-the-hotel room "concert hall. " Oh, yes - a couple of miniscule not-quite-perfect touches; nice that she has a real pro performer's instinct to blow right past them. Impressive in all respects.
