Raing Blood by Slayer Steph nJay First Time Hearing this thrash cut straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I do not own the rights to this song no copyright infringement intended... just a honest reaction/review
Raining blood! From a lacerated sky!’ If you’ve never watched Slayer perform and screamed along with this, you should probably hand in your metal licence sharpish and download some Jake Bugg tunes instead (but, you know, don’t). From that eerie, tense intro to the eruption of hellish chaos that brings song and album to a close, Raining Blood is simply a milestone in the evolution of heavy metal

Made a rookie mistake being this is your first reaction to Slayer. Its too much for first time listeners. Anyone who sees this and is going to do Slayer for the first time please don't do this song. Later on sure but not to start your Slayer journey. Do South Of Heaven or Seasons In The Abyss.

I don't know, this was my introduction to Slayer. Exactly the Raining Blood / Black Magic video that time (In the early ninetees). I was into Queen, GNR, FNM, Metallica that time. I remember showing the video to one of my friends and tellin: oh my god look at this, this is extremly heavy, I haven't seen anything like this before. After this I explored Slayer.

Same -- I've just listened to The Mars Volta - Inertiatic for the first time thanks to the Lost in Vegas guys, and while I really enjoyed it and found it really 'elite' musicianship-wise, it struck me as more frantic/intense than a lot of metal I listen to, definitely something that I could see getting on my nerves and that I have to be in the right mood to enjoy

Music video wise , Operation Ground and pound is very intense . Or some stuff with the newer singer like Cry Thunder or The Game or their newest songs from their new album that's coming out this September 27th . 2 songs they released called Highway to Oblivion and Heart Demolition. They're amazing . Yall would love it. And nothing is more refreshing than what I'm sipping on . A thermos full of cold water 😆😆

Now you guys have courage to start with this one! And Steph! Really, you're lyrical analysis was pretty spot on for a first time through. It's essentially about judgement day. Souls waiting in purgatory looking to exact revenge on the God that put them there. The devil fantasizing about taking over and the inevitable loss as the fallen angels that went with him betray him.- Keep in mind as you explore this kind of stuff, the vast majority is about dark concepts, it kind of matches the music, but very little is "evil." This is actually just an interpretation of revelations.

Slayer is a hard listen. I like Slayer but it's like taking a big drink of your favorite beverage but once it hits the back of your mouth your realize someone swapped whatever you thought you were drinking for straight up moonshine. I totally agree with Pit Viper that South of Heaven, Seasons in the Abyss or Skeletons of Society would be a lot better as a starting point. It's all subjective and I'm a life long metal head but even I can only take about 10% of what I've heard from them. Jay, I just wanna say that I saw that look man (2:32). Same look everyone gets right before they jump into the mosh pit. I'm watching you man....lol

A tricky first-time Slayer song but you handled it well. Slayer have a massive library of tracks (they've been around for a long time!) and even though "Raining blood" is a top-tier track, it's probably not a good intro to their stuff. Having said that, you survived your Slayerectomy and should now consider a deeper dive into their work. Don't forget guys, Slayer are metal royalty for good reason and I'm sure you'll get into their sound/vibe after continued exposure. If anything, it'll give us more great reaction videos to enjoy! As always, love your content, keep smiling and keep up the good work! Oh, and if you find the time, I'd sacrifice my left nut (ouch!) to see your reaction(s) to "Spiritual healing" by "Death" or "Fall from grace" by "Morbid Angel" - both are personal favourites and are pretty intense tracks :)
