Shanahan didn't want to trade for RG3. He knew better, that's why he made sure to draft Cousins in 4th round. Just imagine what Shanahan could have accomplished if Redskins didn't trade all those picks for RG3.

He asked what did Shanahan do since Elway retired and Davis walked away. The Super Bowls were his high point. He had been in and out of the playoffs with his last season in Denver being a complete meltdown. So yes he has done nothing since Elway retired. Also as the Commanders head coach he was not that great either. The one year he was good was when RG3 came into the league. Other than that nothing

Yeah..... all the redskins did after this rant was win every game to end the season. All 7. And win the division. Shanahan and his son are the only reason rg3 had any success. He faced no pass rush all year because of read option, threw to tight end on wide open stick routes, time to throw because of defense waiting to read out the play, and shanahan installed a third down offense which was 2 reads, then either check down or run. Simplified everything to try and help him. Got too much criticism, he was a big reason for rg3's success.

man It does not matter how many superbowls Elway lost it was Elway who won 2 in spite of Shanahan. This guy is a looser, and this team will not perform to the way he coaches pro players. He will take RG-3 down with him, There too many coaches who deserve a chance but Shanahan should only be allowed to coach prison death row inmates, that way it does not matter who he gets killed. FIRE BOTH SHANAHANS or the GM now.

In most situations, a coach is only as good as it's quarterback. Do I think Shanahan is a good coach? I can't say because I've never been coached by him nor do I know his philosophy but I can say this. Snyder kisses RGIII's ass and everyone knows that. Blame Shanahan all you want for how bad RG3 is this year but just know RG3 is the guy throwing the football, not Shanahan. Everytime a team is bad, the coach is the scapegoat when in reality, it should be the guys who are on that football field actually getting those wins.

the rumor in washington sports media is that shanahan's comments were all a ploy to take the heat and pressure off of the players and put it all on him. he later told his players in private that he would never give up on them. it sounds plausible considering what happened after the redskins bye.

How many Super Bowls did Parcells win after he left N.Y.? I believe it was 0. How about Jimmy Johnson, who had Marino? I believe it was 0. And lets keep in mind Shanahan was in Denver, not a large market to get high profile players. He never had a good QB after Elway retired.

Who did you think was responsible for putting him back on the field before he was actually ready the first time? Or how about the playoff game against the Seahawks? How many times did we watch Robert limp back out onto the field wondering why? Not until he was crawling on his belly trying to reach for a lost ball did Mike Shanahan finally get him out of the game. By then it was too damn late. And speaking of the past, let's bring up Shanahan's Super Bowl wins - you know, the two that people want to give him credit for when in reality (for those of you too young to remember) that team was built by his predecessor, Coach Dan Reeves. I never wanted Shanahan in the first place and I watched him make my bad team even worse and now I have to patiently wait to see if this poor bastard, Jay Gruden is going to be able to turn things around. Not holding my breath. Damn near 23 years of abysmal misery. Thank God I was around when the Skins were great. HTTR!!!
