Stephen Flynn, the SNP's Westminster leader, has said the forthcoming general election is "worth so much more than just independence, it is about making sure that we have people in Westminster who put Scotland first."
He added that the policies of Labour and the Tories "fail" Scotland.

Strikes me (and Brexit I think proves it) that for Scotland to become independent and for it to work they need the agreement and support of the U.K. government. An adversarial process and outcome will take years to recover from (possibly on both sides). What the SNP should have done is work hand in hand with the Labour Party to become the only major left leaning party in Scotland, overthrow the Tories and form a coalition government which would work towards independence. Unfortunately they have just been adversarial on all sides, like a rat with its arse stuck in a drainpipe, and assuming we have a Labour majority in July with Labour gains in Scotland the cause of independence will have gone further back. It’s almost as if SNP politicians would rather be the plucky underdogs and actually can’t envision the realities of Scottish independence.
