Any respect for Canada was for our country not for Harper personally. No censorship ?? He stopped federal scientists from speaking publically about climate change or anything else he didn’t like . The most painful part is we apparently learned nothing from our first Trudeau experience, or we were unable to warn the young voters from the 2015 election of the dangers of electing such a shallow person. Now they can look forward to about 30 years of high taxes to pay for Justin’s Magic Beans.

Harper had Canada on a track of balanced budgets, economic stability, world safety, and a sense of respect that the world saw Canada as a nation that believed and modeled what a true democracy and capitalist country looks like. Just as important Harper protected Canadians from the stupidity of the climate hysteria and the lies it was pandering around the world. Trudeau ended all this and put Canada on the fast track and direction of collapse and destruction.

He was also instrumental in rebuilding our nation defenses by purchasing new Leopard tanks, new chinook helicopters, desert fatigues and our own C17s to airlift our equipment without the assistance of the American Air Force. He asked the American government to purchase the C17s and the Americans gave the first five to the Canadian military, even though they were designated to be delivered to the American Air Force first.

@davidmorton9722 I despise Justin Trudeau, but your claims about Harper supporting our military are demonstrably false. Quite the opposite actually. Under Steven Harper, funding for our military was about 1.1 percent of GDP on average (and that's horribly low) and under Justin Trudeau it has risen to about 1.25 percent of GDP on average. Still horribly low, but more than Harper. Strangling our military is something that has been going on for decades in this country under all political parties. It's shameful and it needs to end.

@@dougwebb704 I agree both parties have seriously neglected our Armed Forces, as well as for those who have served. But during the Afghan war, at least Harper bought the new equipment (C-17s, new chinook helicopters, new Leopard Tanks and desert fatigues just to identify a few) that were not there at time when he took office. The acquisition of this equipment saved the lives of many soldiers and also showed that we were actually serious about fighting in a war.
