This was wonderful, Alex! I’m so happy anytime I hear praise for 11/22/63. That book is so meaningful to me. My two brothers and parents enjoyed it, and it’s my oldest brother’s favorite book of all time. The Dark Tower left me wanting to pick up more King, and I’m so excited to pick up Fairytale next month!

Yes! Love 11/22/63, my favorite King book and one of my favorites in general. Hoping to start The Dark Tower series next year even though I’ve been told a few times a book was thrown across the room with the ending,lol. Glad to hear you were in favor of it though!

Still stuck on book 4 in The Dark Tower, but I have no doubts that I will eventually finish out that series. 11/22/63 really appeals to me though, so I might dive into that one sooner rather than later. Great video and love so many King books especially because of their sff elements. I still need to read Eyes of the Dragon though but 11/22/63 is so good and so is the Dark Tower, one of my all time favorite series.

I would enjoy seeing more Dark Tower. I’ve read the first two books but the timing wasn’t right. I know there have been a bunch of read alongs recently but it would be cool for new readers of sci-fi and fantasy. I wouldn’t mind rereading the first two again and then continue on.

Eyes of the dragon is one of the books I plan to read before retrying the dark tower! Duma key is still one of my all time fav King novels I loooovveeee firestarter. There’s a list of books I want to read before DT because I saw they’re heavily related, like salems lot etc. so I’m hoping to get to it soonish.

This was a great SK video, and I'm in agreement with all your selections, especially your description on 11/22/63 -- you were spot-on. I felt that I was living the late 50s, with the sights and sounds, cars and buses, the clothes, and the taste of root beer 🍺. Also I'm not a romance reader, but the love between Jake and Sadie was convincing and engaging. While not my "favorite" SK read, definitely amongst the greats! So yea, I'm a Tower Junky. Wizard and Glass is my #1 of the series. I'd be down for Dark Tower content. If it's something you're interested in making, just know I'm of the captive audience 😄

This is a great video!! 11/22/63 is one of my favs!! I've had a huge fascination abt the assassination of JFK for a long time... plus I love portal fantasy and the 50s-60s time period. I was reading King in pub order (minus DT) and took a break. I need to get back to it so I can make it to Duma Key. I've read most of the others you mentioned and 🙌🙌.

My boyfriend gifted me first edition copies of the first 3 dark tower books.. they’re stunning and I can’t wait to read them!! Also 11/22/63 is AMAZING. It’s one of my all time favorite books agghhh I read it almost 2 years ago and still think about it constantly. I’m due for a re read soon 😌 long live the King

Dark Tower is also my favorite work by Stephen King. The scope of the story is so unbeliveably immense and encapsulate perfectly what the author is capable of. You get a mix'n match of fantasy, sci-fi and horror all at once.

I really enjoyed Firestarter and planned to have some cross-channel palaver about it with Baron, but he uhhh … didn’t want to. Big fat dnf from him. :( Really fun video with some stuff I absolutely love (11/22/63 is my favorite King book, and Wizard and Glass isn’t far behind it,) and some stuff I haven’t gotten to yet as I make my way through his catalogue.

I didn't enjoy the institute but did enjoy the dark tower series I also enjoyed the ending it definitely shocked me my least favorite book in the series is the drawing of three my favorite is wizard and glass I'm definitely will be rereading the series

Hi Alex. I've read and enjoyed 11/22/63, and The Institute. I read and mostly enjoyed Firestarter, although the main character isn't particularly well drawn imo. I still need to great Eyes of the Dragon and Duma Key. I'm not a fan of Th Dark Tower. I hope you enjoy Fairy Tale.

I’m curious why you didn’t have The Talisman on this list. I count it as fantasy. It ties in to the Dark Tower as well. Do you just not like it as much as the others? It’s always been one of my favorites.

I really don't get the universal praise for 11/22/63's ending. I felt like the book was pretty amazing right up until that point. Spoilers: While I was expecting something that would basically undo the whole book because we can't have a time travel story where the time travel actually works out, no... it always has to be "terrible things happen to people who meddle with time," that doesn't make it happening any better. And while I'm guessing it's beloved because he still loves her, she doesn't even know who he is and is old enough to be his grandmother probably. Most people probably think that's tragically romantic. I just find it pointlessly tragic. If the time travel worked out and there was a tragically romantic ending, or the time travel didn't work out, but he took one last trip into the past to be with the woman he loves, I'd have felt differently.
