Why is it that, as people age, the question that is always asked of them, is whether they're mulling over retirement? Straighten that sh*t out, people. Quit being the part of society that practises the devaluation of human beings as they advance in age. Instead, be part of a society that embraces creativity, wisdom, knowledge, inner strength, beauty of character, regardless of age.

@ Dreamcatcher is not too shabby but I wouldn't count it as one of my favorite King novels. It shows a bit of creative fatigue which is understandable considering the pain he was going through during the time he was writing it. My favorite King novel from that period is Hearts In Atlantis. King has too many awesome novels to pick one as a favorite. It's easier if you divide his 46 year writing career into decades and pick your favorite from each decade. My favorites are usually his short story collections. I love them all, especially Skeleton Crew.

There's a certain humility that comes from being in recovery for a long time: "I GET to be on the Stephen Colbert show", however jokingly it was said, does represent King's overall "i can't believe I get to do this" humble attitude in sobriety. Dick Van Dyke had that also.

I know, right? Since I've given up watching tv and don't see the commercials, and am kinda isolated (I live on an island), and don't use social media, well, except for leaving comments like this on yahoo, I often don't learn when a new book or movie of is coming out. (That said, I went to the movies for the first time in over a decade last Saturday to see Dr. Sleep and loved every single second of it). Of course, with the internet I could probably set some notification somewhere or other, at least then I could begin the count-down to when either it's released in paper back or I'm financially solvent enough to splurge on the hard cover. Then I wouldn't have to accidentally discover them years later in the library!

Totally. I've been wondering for some time why she was considered moderate. She makes noises like she's seriously considering taking a liberal position on an issue, but then always votes her party line. She does it because it gets her attention and TV time. It makes her "one of the ones to watch." (On an aside, does she have some sort of speech impediment that makes her speak SO SLOWLY??? Or is that just another trick to hog camera time?)

@John Townsend... I understand why one would think that. During the Obama era, she voted with Obama about 3/4 of the time. She is liberal on stuff like abortion rights and most gun control legislation. However, she's voted with Trump on 69% of legislation during his tenure. She's only voted with him 31.8% of the time during this current congressional term. I'm not trying to defend her, I'm just stating facts. I agree that the Kavanaugh vote was a bad decision on her part. She's more tolerable than any other Republican. You guys have to admit that. Before I get any backlash, I am a Democrat. God gave me and you free will for a reason. The mistakes we make do have consequences as it should be. We don’t seem to learn unless we become aware of our mistakes. God’s wisdom is greater than those who will oppress you as for example Collins, McConnell, Graham, McCarthy etc. These people have hurt so many people. They are the people who are the creators of the division we see today. One way to help you and me is through a great education system which they will always oppose because it’s not to their benefit.
