The thing that gets me about the opening is that Alex was not far off with his Dylan impression before even hearing a peep from the actor. Truly a master of tropes is that Alex. I'm sure he'll do great things someday. 😂

I'm kindve the same, though the Supermassive games have been a guilty cheesy pleasure of mine. I will say that The Quarry seems less scary to me than Until Dawn? there's less "Boo!!" fakeout jumpscares at the beginning of the game, and the [Redacted] bad guy didn't seem as spooky as the monster from Until Dawn.

Yeah, I don't really play horror games myself either. The last one I played was either Silent Hill 3 or Eternal Darkness. I might try one near Halloween this year. I have several on my Steam account.

@@travisboothe7847 it's not that in don't like them, more like I get scared very easily and thus don't feel at ease when trying to play one. It's something 8nwish I could work on, but it's been that way for over 15 years, despite many attempts to change how I feel about that genre

Excited to watch this. Although I don't think this game matches up by the end to Until Dawn, having Hayley and Alex here to help control each of their assigned characters is going to be really interesting as they all get equal responsibility to keep them alive. Most of the writing between the characters is quite entertaining and natural which is definitely one area this game shares most with Until Dawn compared to the Dark Picture games, and it's sure to bring about many funny reactions and moments between you all that I can't wait to see.

I missed watching this last year, so October seems the perfect time to catch up! The Quarry was so enjoyable as a solo experience, but co-op would be incredibly fun (and nerve-wracking).

I don't know if this was all recorded prior but if memory serves each character has their own comments on evidence and such so it is worth going back to check the collectables.

What's really scary to me is how much animated Ted Raimi looks like real Ted Raimi. It's like they scanned his photograph and put it into the game. Graphics have come a LONG way since I was playing my big brother's Commodore 64 as a kid.

Officer Scary was just trying to help, I think. (I can't say; I have no insight into whether he's a normal, helpful-perhaps beleaguered-member of law enforcement, weary from travelers making a mess of things and being unable to keep the story straight) He seemed a bit miffed that the duo weren't being especially forthcoming, especially after potentially leaving a hit-and-run scene, after all. Harbinger, hm? A manifestation of an omen, usually one of ill portent-like a crow or raven appearing, a black cat crossing your path, etc. And yes, good point about "Quarry" having multiple meanings. If memory serves, it usually means a mining site, in current terminology...but used to mean something hunted, I believe.

Man...I just bought and started this game today after LOVING the LP and wanting moar... Man do these guys miss out lol. Even in just my first 10 minutes or so I found/saw/did soooo much more. If I could give any basic advice - BE THOROUGH! Search all the things. I got a whole cutscene that they didn't despite picking the same option as they did lol
