Stephenson's Rocket

Just a very short video of My 71/4 gauge live steam Stephenson's Rocket which is quite rare in this scale ,Many thanks to member Dave for the video clips and other members at our club for all the help and support.
Rocket was Designed by Robert Stephenson and won the Rainhill trials for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway .
The real Rocket is on display at the Locomotion Museum Shildon UK,
My version has 2 model coal ore wagons ( Cauldrons ) coupled to it the wagon directly behind the loco has a hand pump and brakes ,the rear one is a water supply cart.
Rocket was built from scratch to works drawings

I don't think she's designed for ground level Chris ,its a very small loco and I would personally find it uncomfortable ,perfectly ok for large or narrow gauge locos ,Best wishes Graham

That’s fantastic. Did you have to add lots of weight to such a small model so it can gain traction to pull people? Is this a kit or scratch build? 😊

HI, When the loco was on the track you can just see a front buffer beam ,that is a heavy lead weight, I might try a extra passenger one day just to see how loco performs ,it is scratch built to drawings by a Engineer that sadly passed away ,It is nice to keep it in the same club in his memory , Many thanks for your kind words Graham
