In this video, we continue our instruction for constructing a low tunnel for season extension. We will discuss the basic components needed and where they can be purchased. Follow along as we demonstrate each step in detail and provide tips for successfully installing the tunnel in less than 20 minutes.
Be sure to watch Part 1 where we detail how to bend the tunnel poles.

Thank you so much for your content - it is so helpful!! How long is the conduit you use (for your 4ft rows)?

It is the standard precut. I believe around 10 feet. We remove a foot before bending the poles. That part is probably mentioned in the early video about pole bending.

No, this was filmed during the peak of Covid. We were trying to be careful around each other.

I’m in zone 6b so I can’t leave ranunculus in the ground over the winter, even with a low tunnel, correct?

How cold does it get there? We cover with greenhouse plastic when it is below 26.

It can drop to below zero, especially with wind chills. We do get a fair amount of snow that can stick around. I guess I’m confused about whether I can leave the plants in the ground for the winter and cover with a tunnel or whether I should plant the corms in a tunnel in very early spring to get a jump on the growing season. Thank you for the help!

With temperatures that low, I would think that you would plant in early spring. We rarely go below 20.
