This sounds so much like C'est la Vie, but it's so much better still. I love it.

Casey Anstee the phonics are like that... 75% of there songs I love within first listen.. 20% I have to hear them a few times before I like it.. and only 5% are songs I don't like. Not bad for 20 years of music. Phonics for me will always be a live band. That's what they do best.

Kelly Jones > Noel Gallagher (Now)

everyone seems to love shitting on Noel Gallagher's new stuff. But its not even that bad I'm glad he's switching it up a gear rather than releasing the same type of songs the whole time.

The drummer is taking hits from an invisible heavyweight boxer throughout the performance?

remember listeners there is an alternative to the mainstream music industry, go to the artists own site and buy direct from the artist thus cutting out the greedy middle men!! if you pay £1 for a song the artist will get all of it, if he wrote and recorded and performed the song! er enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a fan for years, but, c'mon, this is not stereophonics for Christ sake. This song is catchy and works for the cooperate music world, they've lost their world big time. And kelly needs a break, needs musicians around him who can contribute to songwriting, and actually have some decent emotion whilst playing. Richard plays same old bass notes and Adam has no fucking emotion whilst playing, credit to the drummer he really wants to be there. This band should needs a long break and come back in a few years time and see if they can muster up something else.
@jordanp14856 жыл бұрын
It's two years since they released KTVA. I'm not sure how much time you think it takes to write an album and what good a 'break' would do. Kelly/Stereophonics know very well their music isn't what it is used to be. Kelly makes it no secret that they have had to adapt their style to stay afloat.
@anon85776 жыл бұрын
Jordan P As a musician my self, I think I know. Stop holding back, realise this band have turned cooperate.
@jordanp14856 жыл бұрын
Being a musician yourself does not mean you know what is required for one of the biggest British rock band's in history to write good music. Each artist needs differing sources of inspiration. And yes, they have turned corporate. But it's working. They are still attracting new fans.
@anon85776 жыл бұрын
Jordan P Die hard fan eh
@rnrs00166 жыл бұрын
Although I agree that the Stereophonics have lost quite a bit of their edge the fact that you're a musician doesn't hold up as an argument considering they're musicians as well. I'm not sure going away would help but they do need some fresh inspiration.
@davewilson15486 жыл бұрын
Kelly's songwriting is getting really, really bad. Both musically and lyrically. Maybe time to take a longer break between the albums, regroup, get inspired and try in a couple of years. This is just lazy writing here.
@OllieFeltonHQ6 жыл бұрын
I agree with you Dave. The Phonics will always be up there with my favourite bands and I admire Kelly no matter what for his song writing abilities as we know exactly what he's capable of. Hopefully their are some hidden gems on Scream Above The Sounds which will make us all relax about how they are doing things now.
@iRedTomato6 жыл бұрын
I find a lot of his writing can be hit and miss, Keep the village alive had some very 'meh' songs, but the writing in Into the World, amongst others, was fantastic in my opinion.
@jsaundersmusic6 жыл бұрын
As a fan for 18 years, it pains me to say I totally agree Dave. The previous album was uninspired and lazy (they streamed it as a promo for free on ITunes and I cancelled my preorder). The song's they've made available for the new album so far have the same problem. I know they've been through countless style changes, but I've found something to like in every album right up to Graffiti. After Graffiti however... no thanks
@jordanp14856 жыл бұрын
And yet the previous album was very, very, successful. What does that tell you? They are adapting their style to bring in new fans and stay relevant
@jsaundersmusic6 жыл бұрын
I did say that I've appreciated every style change until their previous album. I am aware that it was a big success, but that doesn't make any difference to me if the music (in my opinion) is lazy and just sound's like my favourite band are slowly giving up. I'm not saying anyone has to agree with me, if you like it, then good for you! I'm happy to wait until they make another album that resonates with me like most of their albums already do
