I thought I was watching myself for a second. I LOVE learning and writing/taking notes. I love textbooks and highlighting all over them. I also preferred chemistry and physics to biology because I enjoyed the math behind those subjects. I love math and logic. Thanks for the video!

Hi. I just came across your video and loved it. Great job. I placed an order today for a Gillio A5 Compagna in Epoca Gold. I really want to change the rings to 35mm as you did in your planner. I went to the Van Der Spek website to order the 35mm rings but I am not sure which is the correct item. The sizes on the Van Der Spek website are called mini, junior, senior, standard, manager, etc. Can you please share which rings you ordered from Van Der Spek for the Gillio A5 Compagna? Also, can you share how you changed the rings? Do you have a video or did you follow another video on KZfaq? Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to binge-watching your videos.

I guess there is a club for planner lovers who love to learn and are very particular about everything call it OCD idk but in my opinion it’s cool. Learning is all the time and you definitely learn more out of school then in school. Education in the United States is a business and that’s it but we all learn differently and most often you might love (math) like you and excel in it so a teacher should help and support you but if you lack or need support in another subject your often called slow or you are left feeling inadequate which kills little kids souls. As a homeschool former student in the education system and a mandated reported that had to go to school meeting for IEP so kids just weren’t ready they didn’t have a disability or disorder but labeling and trying to fix people is easier then holding their hands and having patience to work through whatever it is!!! At 37 years old I am still a nerd and always learning and will never stop like some of my old professors use to say you will be 80 years old still in school double majoring because you never stop!!!! Unfortunately education isn’t free lol but I will definitely invest in me cause you only get one life right? Why waste it on things that will not help your brain but hurt it! It’s muscle and must be used or you will lose it 😀👏!!!! Congratulations beloved!!! I need more space please come out will a A5 or at least inserts with that size please but don’t worry I will be using both the half and full next year to the fullest with your stickers!!! Happy Holidays beloved to you and your family! Stay safe and best wishes 😊

Catherine - can I ask if it is hard to cut up bound notebooks to punch and use with rings? Do you show how in any of your videos?
@SterlingInk

Hi I have a heavy duty guillotine that I used to cut it down then hand punched all the holes using just a regular 6 hole punch. It took a bit but totally worth it.

I love your study binder. I just moved into a stardust croc from vanderspek for mine. I must say, I like how you organized yours by school subject. I’m stealing. Please tell me you’re teaching Sterling Chinese, Korean and English? My mother in law is deaf but she didn’t teach my kids, and I’m so sad. They’ve missed an opportunity!

While this is a nice way to utilize a larger planner, I wouldn't consider it a serious tool for personal knowledge management, especially with a book project in mind. Using a Mo2p for indexing notes merely based on the date and subject header, you have no way to retrieve a specific note or thought at a later time, other than flipping through an entire planner section. PKM starts with Luhmann's Zettelkasten method, and the only way to implement that without dedicated filing cabinets is digital. As much as I love my pen-and-paper planners for goal planning, habit tracking, checklists, journaling and what not, my PKM is housed in Obsidian. Both PKM and Obsidian have huge communities on YT, and as a planner girl, I can attest that setting up Obsidian (or Notion, or Evernote, or Roam Research, or Zettlr, LogSeq, ...) for PKM is as much fun as setting up a planner, but so much more functional and valuable for studying, collecting, writing, publishing.

I would recommend Notion as well but I think it’s is perfectly fine tool as is since she’s using it more as a study log rather than a second brain type management.

@@a-plans Yes. We don't know whether her priority is to actually learn and retain knowledge, or just to write things she's read into a pretty planner. Those are different things, both valid.

@@andyminsky9435 You know, we all have hobbies and interests. Why can’t they merge creatively into an outlet that feels appropriate? No need to analyze to this extent. Why be so condescending and analyze an entire community of people who enjoy planning and journaling and notetaking in a way that is helpful to the person creating it by diminishing this KZfaqr’s process? Your way works for you. Great. This creator has a different way and has multiple outlets as she not only loves creating this way, but she owns a business where her artwork is available in multiple sizes and therefore, she tests it in many ways in order to understand what works best for her customers. We, in the planning community, benefit greatly by watching her set ups and it might help someone click with trying a process they hadn’t thought of before. Regardless, her planning and notetaking is shared here because it is fun and helpful and… ugh, I cannot get past your judginess. I just can’t.

@@CoffeeBookChick Don't, if you can't. All I said - as someone who's in the planner community myself and enjoying Sterling Ink's content, or I wouldn't be here, and also as a researcher and academic writer who's invested in learning techniques and knowledge management systems - is that jotting down reading notes on paper is not an efficient way to organize and retain knowledge. I also said, just writing things in your planner for the sake of writing things in your planner is fine, too. Been there, done that. Your reaction is rather emotional, don't you think?
@CoffeeBookChick
@CoffeeBookChick Жыл бұрын
@@andyminsky9435 Sigh. Many people learn differently. I use Notion and I also must write things out because my brain requires it in order to truly learn and absorb it. And if I can make it also look neat and nice, even better. It makes me eager to return to it. It works for many this way. While you feel it is not efficient to write it down, it is extremely effective for many. But I guess there is no way your comment came across as smug? Very well. I’m emotional. Interesting you should pick that word to describe me.
