If you are on the base plan and you get somewhere with LTE congestion, you will most definitely get throttled. With the amount of 5GUW Verizon has deployed, it is less of an issue than it used to be.

I also have a 20 foot directional antenna and cell booster in my van so I can get a good signal in a bad area but have only needed to use that once so far. I can watch HD videos on my laptop and as I said, I am very pleased with Visible so far. Ps. 5G UW is awesome. I have only run into that a few times but the last time I noticed it was on, I ran a speed test and it was 180 mbps down and 26 up. Not bad for my cheap $200 phone.

When we stopped in Jax everything was working good on my phone.

not true i used 400gb this month and no throttling yet. the 50gb is for lte only but my area has 5g uw so its uncapped limit@VeedoCapone1

That's not the point. Having a cap and not disclosing it could have actually gotten them fines from the FCC. Carriers are required to disclose their network management practices and Visible was throttling everyone to 200Mbps without disclosing it.

Honestly sounds like tower upgrades taking forever on verizons side. Or maybe have them do a reprovision of your sim cards. Either way.....that sucks.

Yeah you'll see 5G UW on Visible+ but on Visible's base plan they try to hide the fact you still connect to C-band.

Visible used to run their own cloud network core that was buggy and prone to high latency and other issues. They are now using Verizon's networking core instead of the old cloud core and most of those issues are resolved.

No, Visible agents read from a script then escalate. They are capable of getting little done. This is not just my opinion but that of thousands of reddit posts. Trust Visible with your main number you have had for years and value, I don't think so. They screwed up ports all the time.

Agreed. I tried Visible base. I appalled his simple test of speed download, but this isn't a true real life use case. If you live in New York, San Francisco, LA or any dense city Visible base is "not the best plan for 2024" in those scenarios. This video doesn't show multitasking and that's where priority data is critical. I live in the city and Visible base absolutely fails at any moment when "deprioritized." I've asked customer service and they have no idea what that means. It's not limited to concerts. I have near maxed bars, iPhone 15, 5g. I'm using Google maps and the GPS live updates fail randomly if rerouting. If I'm looking up a restaurant in Google maps, the restaurant takes 8-30 seconds to load. If Spotify is streaming in the background, the songs need time to load if shuffling. A lot of the times it can't load the songs and my phone starts crashing. All of these micro actions when "deprioritized" result in an iPhone that is overheating, battery drained quicker, purposefully halted actions, heightened danger with maps staying offline. These are an example of what Visible base fails at. Enough with advertising "unlimited" or "best" data plans that don't encompass city users. This plan shouldn't be advertised to people that live in the city. I actually switched to ATT prepaid with 16 gb of priority data for $25 monthly. I'm driving the exact same routes / traveling the same. These micro searches or map loads all functions properly all ... the.. time. The 200 mb/s speed is impressive for single downloads - it's not truly what stands out when multitasking and communicating many smaller downloads for information. Visible base is a scam for people living in the city. Also the support team, like you mentioned, truly can't help.

Video speeds for both plans are capped at 1.5Mbps (enough to stream 480p SD video) on Verizon’s LTE and 5G Nationwide networks. The one difference is Visible+ can stream 4K quality when connected to 5G Ultra Wideband.

Once you're an AT&T Prepaid customer you can switch to either the Unlimited Max or Unlimited Max Plus plans through the portal. That said, unless you need higher than 480p streaming video or the extra hotspot, Cricket More is a better deal, as Cricket More comes with totally unlimited priority data for $60 including taxes ($55 with autopay) while Unlimited Max Plus is $75 without taxes ($65 with autopay) for unlimited priority data and Unlimited Max is $65 a month plus taxes ($55 with autopay) for just 50GB of priority data. Definitely compare the plans to see which fits your needs so you can save some money.

I'm currently riding out the last vestiges of my current carrier which happens to be Straight Talk that's running on AT&T towers... After Verizon bought out AmeriMovel (spelling?) in 2022 and which owned all of the umbrella companies of Tracfone, they were migrating all customers away from GSM AT&T towers and that's exactly what my area used... When the buyout was finalized all preexisting Tracfone customers running on GSM AT&T towers were guaranteed to have service for two years... Verizon tried via shenanigans to slowly push people off originally because essentially Verizon is buying air time from AT&T to stay compliant to FCC conditions of the sale... But here I am still, at least until mid October when my time on Straight Talk will come to an end... Again thank you so much, I really do appreciate it... Have a good one !

Video is capped at 1.5 Mbps on the Visible Base plan. You can get around this by using a VPN. Video is capped at 1.5 Mbps on Visible+ when connected to Verizon LTE and 5G Nationwide. Video is uncapped on Visible+ when connected to Verizon 5G UW.

I think Visible+ is an excellent plan. Most people likely do not need it though and will be fine on the regular Visible Base plan. You can always upgrade later if you feel like you need it.

It's simple. Apple doesn't let the carriers remove access to the toggle (yet - it's definitely coming as the carriers want to manage their own networks how they choose and letting people disable 5G creates more LTE congestion when they want to move most LTE bands to 5G). The Android manufacturers aren't given a choice if they want the carrier to carry their products.

It's very weird. My Pixel 6 Pro has a similar setup to my iPhone in which you can choose the preferred network type (5G, LTE, or 3G) but I guess this isn't available if your phone isn't unlocked. I find this very strange.

@@BeesonsCars some carriers do block that on Pixels too, locked or unlocked. Just depends on the carrier. For now though you can get around that with * # * #4636# * # * (remove the spaces) and going to phone information then changing it in the preferred network type drop-down but they may eventually do like Moto does and grey out the drop-down box.

But did you notice that his visible base plan kept slowing down and stopping near 400-420 Mbps? While plus went over 700? Looks like a 400 Mbps cap now

This cap was not meant to be there. It took a rather loud campaign from people like myself and Stetson, including screenshots of tests and in Stetson's case, video, before they took the complaint seriously and investigated to see they AMBR was still set at 200Mbps. Seeing how I was the one who discovered that and posted about it, I may have even done the work of discovering where the limit is for them as the AMBR is a network setting that sets the Aggregate Maximum Bitrate that's enforced on the subscriber...

From The Villages to Gainesville and Jacksonville is all good on Visible. (I am in Marion county)
